Yes, but the brave effect only works on player phase. I recommend swift sparrow because goad fliers will generally protect him from natural doubles anyways, and the bulk penalty I think does become significant in some cases because he has extremely good bulk for an archer with 35/35 base offensive stats, very balanced and able to take one hit, and if you stack L&D on -def, he's actually down to something like 53 physical bulk which does get OHKO'd by units without M.Grima atk, which is not uncommon on tanks

But the weightier consideration is probably availability. Who are you sacrificing to give him swift sparrow?
