Still waiting on a close/distant attack skill

You would think that with close counter we would get the opposite of the skill where a 2 range unit can attack at 1 range. The same can apply to melee units where they can attack at 1-2 range on initiation. So far all we have are the counter skills which are purely enemy phase. I think the best way to introduce this is with levin type weapons but change them to have adaptive damage based on the range they are attacking

So, you can attack at any range, but you can only counter at the normal range?

That sounds pretty interesting to be honest. I hope this would only be a weapon skill. I don't want this to be a normal skill that can be inheritable.

Then again, most people would still go with Distant Counter still.

Even if it would be a normal skill it still would be locked behing 5* only unit and we are getting counter skills to adaptive damage in future so i don't think it will change much.
(also Levin sword used magic stat to calc damage (in fates at least) so i think this weapon should have lower mt to play it out in feh, cause most sword users had like 3 mag if not 0)

I'd see close attack only working on dagger units. They really need a buff and it feels more realistic that they can attack close range

How do you propose they rework the controls of the game to allow this? Counterattacking is automatic, but now we would have to tell the unit from which square to attack.

I would like the opposite, a skill where 1 range units can throw their weapons like in the games with throwing lance etc. (E.g. Berkut)
