stacking debuffs?

if i faced an emblem team with full hones and fortifies and i had a dagger unit attack with smoke dagger++ to get the -6 debuff. that would cancel out the buff.

but theoretically, if i were to dance the dagger unit and have them attack again, would the enemy units affected get the -6 or would the debuff not apply because of their inability to stack?

it would not apply, because that would simply just be another -6 added onto your original -6, which isn't allowed.

if so, that would allow -12 debuffs.

Just to expand on that, what you're doing in your example isn't cancelling the buff but neutralizing it with an equal debuff. Both are still in play so the enemy can be neither buffed or debuffed in the affected stats except with a greater buff or debuff.

If you're having issues with emblem hones, I suggest the panic ploy seal or inheriting panic ploy onto some armour you plan to use a lot that doesn't have an HP bane (which usually means spd or res bane, such as a slow Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn has a solid few more points of HP than Sheena, which can make a difference when panic ploy only requires 1 more HP). Fliers don't have huge HP pools; horses don't have huge HP pools. Fae, Nowi, -spd A.Tiki, and armours are up there, but I was looking at the numbers yesterday because someone asked about "safe" amounts of res/HP for ploying and I found 53HP to be fairly reliable before accounting for merges
