-Spd Sothe

I finally pulled sothe, two of them in fact, but... they're both -spd. Is this salvagable? I know if I give him the speed seal it takes him back up to 38, but is there anyway I could build him without using up my speed seal?

Well, I’ve always thought -spd Sothe can be salvageable. Sothe has an amazing attack(highest attack on a dagger unit for now) and his Peshkatz is still an amazing weapon. He also has certainly decent mixed bulk, something you don’t always see on a dagger unit.

If you still want to use him(I mean, he’s great), there are some builds you can run without having to worry about the bane. Fury/Quick Riposte or Vantage with a Distant Defense seal(or +Def or +Res seal) can make for a tanky anti-ranged Sothe while still being able to buff your teammates. If you got a +Def Sothe, Bowbreaker can make him an anti-Brave Lyn as well. +Res Sothe can trade with some mages as well, because thanks to his high attack he can oneshot some of the most common ones. Optimal(+Spd -Def) Fury Nino dies to Sothe with Fury or +2/+3 Attack seal. Not even going to talk about Delthea or Linde, since those are even squishier when it comes to physical bulk.

Sothe can also use a Poison Dagger if you want to consider making him an infantry nuker. Deathblow is what you should probably get as A skill, and probably a breaker skill as B skill. This works even better with a +Atk IV, but it’s not mandatory. His default Life and Death can work as well(he could run Vantage to oneshot some mages, Ardent Sacrifice could get him safely into Vantage range for this purpose).

Got a +HP Sothe? You can also make him kind of a medic. 45 HP with a +3 HP seal and Renewal with Ardent Sacrifice/Reciprocal Aid can make him a decent medic/support in case you need one. It looks quite strange, and it probably is, but it’s just another way of building him I guess.

The last option you could go for is trying to make up for the bane with a +spd refine for another dagger(Rogue Dagger, so he can still do almost the same as with Peshkatz, maybe?).

Sorry if this was too long. The ideas just kept coming. Hope this helps!
