-spd +res Lucina

I've been meaning to get Lucina for a while, even when the Falchion banner was out. Now I got her after all this time, and I'm stuck with these Iv's. Should I just go with a generic build to patch up the spd bane? Or could I take a different direction with her?

Lucina doesn't really have much in terms of flexibility in her stats. She has "fairly okay, but still trash" resistance, "workable" defense, and, because of the speed bane, "okay" speed.

You can make her into a dragon killer, but she pretty much already fulfills that role because of her Falchion.

You can go with her Bond Falchion, Steady Breath, and Close Defense for an extra 14 defense during enemy phase, allowing her to reach 39 before ally buffs, like drives. Or, you could change Steady Breath to something like a Brazen skill, but the synergy between that and Aether isn't too great.

I'd suggest just trying to fix her speed bane, because all of the possible ways I'm thinking of to "work with" her IVs to make her into a completely different role is not providing me with good, if any, results.

Could be just missing something, though.

You can try a more defensive approach with QR-B and Close Def seal as a start. We have so many sword lords that we ought to try and be more creative with their builds instead of trying to make them patterned after some model unit like Ayra. Because of her Res boon, she can take better hits from dragons, which she should be specializing at anyway.

True but bottom line is people should not be so narrow when it comes to building units. Most players still have the mentality of ORKO builds on offense for any "premium sword unit". There's more to this game than just having beat stick units to trample any opposition.

Well, that's pretty much what some of these sites are encouraging, at least now the "best" build isn't called the "optimal" build like it was before, but even then people are still going on about the 'best' build for units, and other people are buying into it.

When you look at it, it's not all that unbelievable. Not everyone has the resources to pour into experimenting to see if a unit will "do well" with other sets when they know for a fact that hyper-offensive "I will murder you when I touch you" work great.

I will agree, though, that people should think outside the box when it comes to some units, but Lucina isn't really that flexible when it comes to experimenting. The only other way to really build her aside from being a super offensive sword unit, or a pseudo-healer, is to have her as a defensive unit, and even then many people would rather run that on someone else.
