Spd Misconceptions?

I feel like people overstimate just how much Spd a character needs to stay relevant, and let alone double. I even hear stuff like "avoid doubles" when talking about lower 40's.

It goes without saying that Spd tiers really did quite creep up a noticeable amount since the start of the game. Yes, it's not necessarily hard to get most characters to 40 Spd- but then, how does that stack up to actual context? I've been riding the tides at Tier 20 for a bit now, and I can say it's not all as different as I'd expect. For one, I'm doing just fine with characters with 40 Spd (like, they actually double at least half the time). That said, it's also worth noting the difference in outliers, rather than just assuming the same for everyone. While you can get someone like Boey to 40 Spd, it's likely not going to happen in the name of effeciency (people will probably build him on his actual strengths like more Def). There's also the fact that certain buffs like supports play more of an individual player role, rather than the teams you face in Arena Defense.

so yeah, I'm doing pretty fine on my end. I'm not going to lie I see the ocassional 40 Spd Fae/Nowi here and there, but it's nowhere as common to have any say on the matter.

Fury would be much better tho.
-2atk/-2spd for +8def/+8res and the recoil damage would actually help with Wrath threeshold effect.

It's not like 52atk would be enough to OS anyone so 50 is just as good if it's about doubling foes and 52spd is overkill in most cases already.

Who's "they"? It's my Charlotte.

And while I don't disagree with Fury vs. L&D3 (recently got it), apparently +2 Atk/Spd can make quite the different at times. It allows her to run stuff like Brave and Firesweep to a fuller potential. 52 is overkill, and I think I just gave her that to show how far I could get her (from a mease 32 base). The recoil damage also seems to be a thing for me (and coming from someone who borderline worshipped Fury), but I may just be paranoid...

The most important thing to consider is what your unit is required to counter. If it's a blue countering reds you either need a shit ton of spd or be extremely tanking and utilise being doubled i.e. steady breath.

I run one fast unit- Nino. Lukas usually cleans up most of everyones team, and with deflect magic, he takes care of their mages as well. Bow Lyn does fine with less than 40 spd, since quading is only needed on slower bulkier foes anyways. With all the skills that allow extra follow-ups it really is not necessary to reach insane speeds with all of your units.
