-spd +def Sigurd

Wanted a Sigurd for a long time but I got pretty bad ivs. Is he worth salvaging? If so, is it better to try to patch up his speed or capitalize on his defense? Thanks.

He can certainly work with those IVs, focus on his bulk by keeping Close Defence and give him Quick Riposte, preferably the seal as Crusaders Ward and Diving Tyrfing make him hugely resistant to magic, then watch physical melee enemies fall before him. Bonfire means he'll likely proc it in the first round of combat or Ignis to save it for another poor soul.

The -spd kind of hurts his melee matchups, but nearly never affects his ranged matchups, due to crusaders ward, so -spd is more than workable. The only thing you should do to patch up his spd is with cavalry buffs, as he kind of needs his A skill to be Close Defense (for non-distant counter builds) and the Seal either CD3, DD3, or QR3.

With a Hone Cavalry buff, Sigurd still can block many doubles, even with a bane. I have a -spd +atk Sigurd, and he still works great.

Also, his native spd smoke could effectively patch up the bane as well!
