At what difference in level do your heroes stop getting sp for a kill?

It seems to be different depending on the rarity of the character. My 4* Klein was getting sp off of enemies 9 levels lower whereas my 5* Ike only got sp 5 levels lower.

4* units get normal sp from a 10* difference
5* units get normal sp from a 6* difference I believe cause my Sharena destroys 34 lancers and gets 3SP.
I think 3* will get normal sp from 15*-17* if I remember correctly when sharena was still a 3*.

The difference depend on the star rating (i think) but i do know that 5 stars at lv40 can only get sp from 35 enemies and higher.

I can say from my experience when my lvl 40 5 star units defeat an enemy in chapter 8 in the story missions (it is declared as about lvl 30 enemies but I didn't check their actual lvl) they still get 1 SP oder 2 SP. In the training tower the lvl cap for gaining SP is 6 I think. But there you get 3 SP or nothing not the 1 oder 2 like in the story chapters (where you also get 3 SP when your unit is within the 6 lvl range). So there might be a difference between the mode.
