Like Son Like Father

I'm working on my Eliwood (+ATK, -SPD, +3 merged 5 star), and with Blazing Durandal available, I'm wondering if it's a good idea to build him like Brave Roy, with Desperation and Galeforce, which I have access to. Any thoughts?

Yeah, he is basically the same with a worse offensive split (atk/spd) but one stat he can emphasize over his boy is the Res.

I have given Eliwood a Def Ploy from Arvis to take advantage of that, I think it works well and makes up for his speed a little with more attack.

If you want to build him like Brave Roy, you need a +spd - anything but attack IV. That makes him much more comparable to his son. Then merge up to higher values and give him Galeforce, Desperation, and Fury/L&D alongside the Blazing Durandal. He needs that speed to double very frequently against other sword lords and some mages who can survive 1 hit, even with cavalry buffs. The build works well, and gives you easier access to merges, but you need a decent spd stat to work with if you want to run that build effectively on him.

Why are you thinking of using Desperation? Unless you’re planning to use the Desperate Assault seal, it’s worthless on a -speed Eliwood.

You’re better off picking a breaker to use, or really anything else except desperation.

Also, I’d recommend going with a lower Cd special because of his low speed. If you did want to use a 5-turn special, you could try Aether and improve his magic tanking sustain. Galeforce is really best used on sweepers who are aiming to orko their targets.
