Someone explain Tier Two Female Grima to me

I honestly cannot begin to fathom why a flying dragon with the highest speed among manaketes, a signature skill that acts to both neutralize her main weakness as a flier and also as one of the best (if not the best) enemy phase a-skills in the game, and the ability to to provide legendary heroe buffs to her allies is considered tier two while all of the other manaketes in the game (besides ninian) are tier one. I've heard Gamepress's argument that her other stats besides speed are poor, but Female Corrin has those exact weakness's and then some, and lacks all of the cool stuff that Female Grima does, but is tier one. Am i missing something important?

look at her stats. her hp is bad for a dragon. her defenses are 30/25 which is meh and her attack is 32. the only good part is the spd. shes a good unit but nothing to fear.

...I mean... I think your main issue is that you're looking at tier lists in general. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but tier lists are not something to be followed religiously, if at all.

Well u cant really compared her to fae and corrin. The BIGGEST reason why they are ranked so high is bec of STEADY BREATH, that allows for reliable aethers.

You basically have to compare her to myrhh.
Myrhh is desined to be enemy phase both with her stat distribution and weapon effect. Which she excells at.

Grima has awkward stats and special skills that make determining her role hard . Her weapon and a skill say "enemy phase" but her stat distribution say "mixed phase in a flying emblem". Shes versatile yes but the only role/niche she can excell at is " flying emblem blyn check"

I really wouldn't put Grima in a dragon team. She works much better in a flier team due to more reliable Goad and Hone buffs and the ability to counter archers freely from them. That's something Myrrh can't do naturally

With SI. Grima barely needs that. In my opinion I prefer using characters that need little or cheap inheritance to be useful, such as a unit that doesn't need DC to be powerful in itself.

See the thing is, your metric is "useful" which is indeed why she is in tier 2. Where the tier list is mostly for "good against even disadvantageous matchups" which is why myrrh is ranked higher.

Plus the fact that tier lists are based on you having acess to all the si you need

Don't let it bother you. Tier lists are subjective, after all, and if you feel like she's tier one, then no one can stop you. I believe the reason is that her stats are too balanced. She hits with decent power, but is surprisingly frail (I put Aether on mine to combat this, using her as a tank without self sustainability just wasn't cutting it), and her speed is her best feature, but is still sub par to many other units.

Yeah, her statline works better using a Fury 3/Vantage 3 build akin to Ryoma than one that uses her native Dragonskin. Dragonskin's good, but it doesn't buff her best stat and she isn't beefy enough to really use it. She's still a great unit, I find.
