So I’ve got two lobsters with good IVs...

...and I’m undecided on which one to merge into. I’m not used to being this lucky lol.

One Ryoma is +Spd -Def. The other is +Atk -HP.

I’ve had the +Spd one for a long time, he’s Fury/Vantage and merged +1. The +Atk one is brand new.

I’m leaning towards +Atk. I think the higher Attack will boost his survival via packing a stronger punch, and the lower HP will trigger Vantage sooner... but I’m not sure.

Am I missing out on any significant doubles/double prevention by ditching +Spd?

FYI, my play style leans enemy phase, if that helps.

Opinions / suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

That's a given. I knew who he was talking about right away lol. Anyways, my only Ryoma is +Res -Atk (literally the worst IVs), so I've never really used him. He's not even good fodder. x_x

So yeah, no experience in the matter, sorry.

Lol yep, just as they said. Lobster = Ryoma.

I figured everyone knew that by now but I guess not. :P I’ll write him into the question to prevent further confusion. :)

The +Atk one is definitely better. Ryoma wants to keep what Def he has, but HP can be ditched safely for the sake of Vantage. Anyway, he'll have better stats (at least 38 speed) anyway with Fury and merges, so he'll still double lots of things. When you merge, he'll keep his skills, so you don't need to build him at all except for bringing him up to level 40.

I'd say go for the +atk one. With +spd you could probably avoid getting doubled by some really fast units, but the bane on hp is better than the def bane in my opinion.

I think you go +Atk -Hp. I don't think you want to give up his defense, especially if you want him to survive on enemy phase.

Well, that was unanimous. Lol. Looks like +Atk is indeed the way to go, then.

Thank you for your replies, all! Much appreciated.
