Skills after merging?

Just to make sure:

Read somewhere that after merging two units the resulting unit will have all the skills any of the two units had.

Is that true or will any skills be lost, e.g. if only the unit on the right had it?

For example: I have pimped my Ryoma a little bit even without perfekt IV on him. If I get another one with better IV, merging them (taking the better IV one in the left hand slot while putting the pimped one in the right hand slot) will give me the best of the two worlds?

Correct - all skills, learned and not learned, will transfer over.

But SP accrued on the old unit would NOT transfer over. You'll get 150 SP from the merge and that's it. I have like 3000 SP on my current Celica, and I have a better IV one just sitting there because I don't want to lose all that SP...haha

I'm pretty sure that the SP of both units adds up

The base unit keeps its skills, while the merged unit passes all extra skills on to the base unit. Effectively, in the way you phrased it, the result will be all skills of both units on the newly merged unit.

Wait, really? I thought if they inherited the skill (but hadn't paid the SP cost), the skill still transfers. Could have sworn I've tested that...can anybody confirm this?
