A skill for Legendary Ryoma

So I happened to get another L!Ryoma while trying to roll for Hrid, (Hrid never came home ;w;) with pretty good IVs: +spd -def. So I'm planning to merge the neutral one I got months earlier with him, and plan on running the famed Firesweep set. However, I want someone's opinion on this: I got a terrible IV L!Eirika last time that I turned into a combat manual out of spite, and I'm debating whether I should feed Atk/Spd Solo to Ryoma since it doesn't take away from his defenses like Life and Death in case I'm unable to get him out of danger. But on the other hand, Ryoma won't get the offensive boost if he ends up right next to an ally. Would it be generally better to give him Atk/Spd Solo or the popular Life and Death?

IMO L&D is the better pick. His defenses are bad anyway, thus the need for changing out his base kit of stellar skills. Anytime you leave him exposed there is a decent chance he gets one shotted even without L&D's effect.

I have to disagree here. He usually can withstand a hit (especially physical) and atk/spd solo is really good for his firesweep build. He can even run steady stance 4 with raijinto very effectively.

I think there are more important units for atk/spd solo (I'm thinking galeforcers especially), and what's more, he might need to be next to an ally some of the time; fliers are like that. I say use swift sparrow if you don't like the bulk penalty

I've had really good results turning my L! Ryoma into a bulky self-sustaining tank, especially with the new atk/def bond seal.

I'll probably also give him Sturdy Stance as soon as H! Dorcas shows up in the Grail shop for a combined extra 9 atk & def. L! Ryoma just needs a little more def to better use Raijinto's DC. And everyone who uses fliers knows what they're bargaining for when it comes to arrows, so archers aren't too difficult to deal with if you're careful about positioning & baiting. Also, Distant Counter Ryoma is easier to setup overlapping wards/goads on a flier team when baiting for Enemy Phase. And I usually have a unit with Fortify Fliers glued to his back every turn. Other than that, Aether is my preferred special for him.

Despite a current lack of synergy for L! Ryoma's skill kit when compared to original Ryoma, he's still pretty versatile, so don't be afraid to experiment.
