A-Skill for Bridal Lyn and Winter Lissa

Using the last few hours of the Warriors maps to boost up the SP for my units, I'm wondering what would be a good A-skill for my Bridal Lyn(Spd+/Def-). She's serving me incredibly well as one of my best offensive healers alongside Elise. I also have three spare Bridal Lyn for other healers, though with Elise around should I just merge one or two of them into her? I do have an Atk+/Def- Priscilla that could use Dazzling Staff, making her a sort-of extra Elise.

The same question applies to Winter Lissa, who is Spd+/Def-(fully leveled).and another that is Def+/HP-.

Honest opinions are greatly appreciated.

Healers are really limited on A skill unfortunately. The best would be Brazen Atk/Spd otherwise one of the bond skills is a good alternative. The other options would be Attack +3 or Speed +3.

Dazzling staff and Candlelight are too valuable a skill to waste by merging. I would keep the other Lyns around for the skills.

If using Winter Lissa for a offensive unit I would go with Death Blow. You can also use Sturdy Blow. Same thing as above Bold Fighter is a very good skill for armors. I would keep the other one around for skills.

Would Fjorm's Atk/Def Bond be viable for the Def- Bridal Lyn? I do have two extras I can fodder.

I should have a spare Athena I can promote and fodder, Lissa can slightly patch up her Defense on Player Phase. Despite the Speed boon, would a Brave Axe+ still work with her?

Yep, you are looking to increase either attack or spd.

As long as you are running Bold Fighter Brave Axe works really well. Throw on either Galeforce or Aether and have them activate almost every turn. You can also go Ignis for huge damage as well.

Then one of the Fjorms will be foddered for her A-skill, thanks.

I might build up the Def+ Winter Lissa to really boost Bonfire/Ignis power, though the Spd+ already has a lot of skills inherited. Maybe I'll just hold the Def+ for Bold Fighter fodder since I do have an Atk+/Res- Winter Chrom.

I run something similar on mine(Slaying Axe with Bold fighter so the second atk triggers ignis) and most of the time it is overkill(+28 damage in addition to what the 2 attacks did). I would just keep the one you have built. If you want to use Winter Chrom he is a good inheritor of Bold Fighter and runs similar to Winter Lissa(just less spd for more atk and hp).

I have both Bride Lyn and Elise, my current account was born from pulling them both on the same reroll. Used that acct ever since :)

Just me, but I feel there's no reason not to merge your Bride Lyn. That's an ideal nature, mine is +Spd -Res and with a Wrathful refine and Atk +3 A skill, mine was able to actually get a clutch kill on an enemy in a Squad Assault today, hitting twice for 37 damage (and she's a healer!). My point? BLyn and Elise are the best healers in the game, so rather than have many okay units I think it's best to make like 10 'elite' units and then have the rest be backup for special cases.

For my Elise, for example, Live to Serve helps her greatly due to her frailty, so I just refined Wrathful Gravity+. BLyn is my main healer anyway, so good that I use her during TT's for healing and dishing out a blow or two.

She is very reliable just like Elise, that's for sure. Maybe I'll merge one or two for now, hopefully IS will release the Bridal Banner again and not just lock them behind the Legendary Banners.

My Elise spreads so much love it hurts thanks to Pain+ from Lucius(spent feathers on him, was worth it), inheriting her sister's Savage Blow skill, and me refining the SB seal to at least Level 2. She has the Dazzling Staff from one of my spare Bridal Lyns, making her pretty useful against the Distant Counter units especially when part of a team with a dancer on it(in this case two Airzuras).

For your Lissa, either one is fine. You can use weapon refine to patch up the needed stats, whether it is Spd or Def, and produce a balanced mix tank Lissa. You are best of using the Slaying Axe DC set. Think of her as a stronger version of Amelia. That set would also prefer Vengeful Figher instead of Bold.

So if you don't want to invest too much, you can use the +Def/-HP Lissa to run a player phase quad monster with Brave Axe+ and Death Blow. You would need either Armor March or other movement assist such as Guidance to truly make use of a player phase armor unit -- with Armor March and an armor emblem team being the more reliable option. Giving Death Blow to Lissa is thus the minimal investment option. You can make do with Brave Axe without +. You can make do with Handbell+ refined. You can even make do with Death Blow 2 if you want to save your Klein for other applications.

The Christmas units were made to be OP but also incomplete. It's a way to funnel christmas/new year spendings from whales. As good as Lissa is, her ideal set tends to require heavy SI investment on top of her default set. In the long run, unless you can merge at least 5 Lissa, it's not worth investing your most premium fodder on her. ie. DC, Armor March, Vengeful Fighter. (Why 5? That's the merges you need to maintain sufficient scores to stay in Tier 20 Arena and 1k+/3k+ in AA for the next few months and hopefully the whole of 2018. Needless to say, you also need other highly merged armor units to form a team.) A lot of people just don't seem to get it: your need to stay in top arena/AA tiers. That is the least chore-ish way to get feather and thus to support all kinds of build projects. And to get arena scores, you need to either merge a unit all the way to +10 or not merge him/her at all. In the latter case, not only 5* exclusive skill is questionable, the use of 20k feathers for weapon/skills is also questionable. One needs to have stable feather income first before using it for purpose other than increasing said income.

That may answer your question regarding B!Lyn merges. A) She won't net you enough arena scores. And outside of scoring, you don't need the merges. B) Other healers won't net you enough arena scores either. +10 merge is the least you should have before contemplating a healer in arena. So it is more interesting to distribute the dazzling staff to other fun projects you can think of. At the same time, it's not worth distributing dazzling staff for the sake of a few marginally more useful healers. You don't need that for AA and you won't be able to use un-merged healers for arena. (If you have +10 healers, you wouldn't be asking this question.) Do it for special interests.

As for B!Lyn A skill, frankly, it doesn't matter. You can run the more premium Atk/Res or just Atk +3 / Spd +3.

Distant Counter isn't happening since I only have one Hector from Fjorm's banner and despite is Atk- IV I'm keeping him. I will keep your suggestion in mind though.

I just finished the comment. Sorry I usually click save and continue to edit for another while.

If your Hector is +Res IV, definitely keep hector. He will counter various blue mages. If you don't have other DC green units, he can carry you into tier 19/20 arena. (Switching between the two is a cheap and effective way to get maximum orbs and feathers. Though you get 2.5k feather less per month. You barely need any merges and you only need to play arena seriously half of the time.) In any case, he can be useful in AA.

Report

What may be less obvious is the implication of 5 arena seasons per month.

So while 1k or 2k feather is already a lot, over a month, 1k or 2k feathers x5 is REALLY a lot. That's why it makes sense for us to push for top 5k in AA and staying in Tier 19 in Arena. At the moment, this is the scoring range that does not require merges. If there is no merges involved, there is no reason not to get the feather, is there? That will change over time though. Over time, more and more merges are required to stay in Tier 19/20. Check out the reward page. The difference between Tier 20 Arena and Top 1k/1k AA and lower tiers are significant. Remember to multiply by 5.

Another less obvious point is that Arena is actually the least chore-ish source for feather.
