I like non-meta units and Merric is the next one I‘m going to build. I already gave him Dark Excalibur and I was planning on giving him Fury/Life and Death and Vantage/Desperation.
The thing is, I don’t really know which special would be better for this build. I was thinking Moonbow for the reduced cooldown since he’s probably going to double(he’s also +spd and will have a Hone Speed ally), but I’m considering Bonfire too, combined with Fury instead of LaD, of course. What do you think?
Well, ask yourself, Will you triggering moonbow or Bonfire More times? Cause of his New tome, as many times as posible triggering Is better, you gain 10 damage every Time...
If he hits 41 spd with L&D and buff, Go ahead and put threaten spd on him. Will Double even Tana and characters with 38 base spd as boom status of 41. Your Focus is to double Green blue and Gray.
But is Fury make 41 spd , better.... +Desesperation and atk Seal
I did some theorycrafting a few months back on +SPD Life & Death Merric wielding the default Excalibur and the results were surprisingly effective. I don't know that that build would work for Dark Excalibur - which is Special oriented - but there's definitely some potential in this overlooked Green Mage.
Yeah, I feel he’s really underrated. His low attack(and his pitybreaker reputation)is what holds him back the most imo, which is why I wanted him to get Dark Excalibur, so he can get +10 damage for free to make up for that attack.
I’ve considered his default Excalibur, but I feel like it’s too niche for me, since I usually like generalist units, that’s why I decided to get him Dark Excalibur instead.
Thanks for your insight, though! I’ll definitely consider his default Excalibur if I feel Dark Excalibur isn’t as effective as I think it’ll be.
