Sigurd still worth going for even though I have xander?

He is I'd say, he can do things Xander can't.

Dang I'm in a similar position. I have 4% pity but worked out I will only have 20 orbs by the end. Should I snipe reds with those orbs or just do a full summon to try get any five star?

I would pull just long enough to break your pity rate since it's a good banner with 3 colors worth of focus units, but I wouldn't stay in it further. I find Xander is just as effective (in a different way) Arena Red unit as Sigurd possessing both. In fact, I kind of prefer Xander for the role he was filling.

Sigurd is superior to Xander... +3 RES and 50% magic damage reduction on first hit is huge. Then Crusader's Ward giving 80% ranged damage reduction... Plus his elevated BST gives him the best arena scoring of any cavalry unit.

But if you run Deflect Magic on Xander he'll do alright and comes with Distant Counter. I'd say that it's really a question of budget vs optimal. Xander can fit the bill with Deflect Magic and comes with Distant Counter but will never be as mighty as Sigurd.

I would say yes. They each fulfill entirely different roles despite seeming very similar. Xander is the ideal bait-and-smash with Siegfried and high def and hp. Sigurd might be tankier against magic, but he can't counterattack from range (not that you want him with distant counter; that would ruin Crusader's Ward).

All in all, I would say keep going for him.

He doensn't die that fast against magic users, which is super great. Considering you can use him + WoM BK in defense, it will get some careless people.
