With a +res boon, he can tank magic hits even better thanks to Divine Tyrfing and Crusader's Ward. Honestly, you could probably use his default kit and you should be fine, maybe switch Speed Smoke with a Hone/Fortify Cavalry (if using for Horse Emblem). Other than that, he's pretty okay.

Wouldn't believe how many times Miracle has saved my skin.
