"Should you pull?" a new gamepress segment
https://fireemblem.gamepress.gg/should-you-pull-doorway-destiny-edition
I saw this on the main page, and I have to say that it's surprisingly pretty good. It should help some people right away, so that they don't have to ask the "should I summon?" or "is XY worth my orbs?" questions, that people here most likely get annoyed by. The only problem that I see with this new segment, that the staff is creating, is that the target audience is not really going to notice it imho, so the questions are still going to come in anyway.
What do you think about this?

The first edition is very, very good. The analysis is good compared to some of what I've seen on this site, and I can easily recommend anyone to use the orb cost estimates. In case anyone is wondering, since I've been throwing numbers around, I'm quite inclined to trust the numbers they're giving. They're using empirical data from simulators, whereas I've been calculating theoretically using laws of mathematical probability. Well, RNG is mostly computer science, so I would expect my calculations to perform pretty well, but I will be using the numbers they published to estimate how well I'm doing with my own calculations.
My criticisms:
- Arguably this is an issue with the reader rather than the writer, but I don't think it's at all clear how to interpret the orb numbers if you're trying to pull for multiple copies, or to some extent, even for one copy. People might wonder, "should I pull if I have enough orbs to hit 50%ile? What %ile should I have orbs for if I want to play safe?" Perhaps answers to questions like these belong in another guide, how to interpret such a table.
- Not clear whether stat comparisons take into account stat bonuses from prfs. This is an issue, in example, comparing Lewyn to SF Nino.
- If IV choices are so common that they can be considered standard, the 5* exclusive should probably be compared against the standard IV rather than a neutral IV. Ex: who doesn't use +spd on Nino? Why then would you compare Lewyn to a neutral Nino?
- Analysis is generally fine but not /that/ insightful, as is typical of GamePress analysis. "Pull for him if you want a green infantry mage; maybe don't if you're crazy about arena score." Anybody who's sufficiently invested in arena scoring to succeed knows that already.
- Perhaps a matter of taste, but I believe orb numbers should go at the bottom. The first question is not "how much would it cost" but "exactly what do these units offer anyways?"
