Should we get melee weapon's like the blade tomes?

Why is it that mages get these Blade tome effects when melee units don't. Ik One person in the story can use this but we need more actual units to use this and I think it won't be very overpowered since we already have the same thing for mages and they can be countered by the panic effect by Panic Ploy, Monstrous bow, Legion's Axe+, Panic +, Skadi, and manyy others that can balence this effect.

Mages have lower BST that melee units, so I guess they need to balance out the indifference some how and making mages powerful but frail is one way to do that. Otherwise, you would never use anything other than melee units

Most melee units have greater defenses than mages so I personally don't think it's going to be a good idea to do that. Can you imagine someone like Christmas Lissa getting full Armor buffs AND getting those bonuses tacked on to her damage output, not to mention the Bold Fighter? Might be a little broken imo.

Physical blades are inherently broken.
Mages experience a reduction in stats because they are range 2, this is an invisible nerf to blade tomes as give mages a super high atk to make up for their other pitiful stats.

Physical units don't suffer from a BST decrease, so they have higher BST at base compared to mages. combine that with a blade and you get utter madness.

Lets take an example, Lucas;
My Lucas has 50 def + 6 from close def. I would lose 4 def from having a different weapon, but with a fortify it goes back up to 50. Not only would I take no damage from most physical units, but I could deal massive damage from having a blade effect.

I'd like to think of it as a Dire Thunder situation. It's only on Laevatein because otherwise everyone would have it and it'd be worse than Reinhardt.
