Should I Quit this Game?

Of my 5 stars, most have opposite IV's of their optimal builds, such as Atk- Hector, Sanaki, Spring Lucina, Brave Ike, Cordelia, Chrom, and Effie, as well as Spd- Marth, Caeda, Bridal Caeda, Tharja, Peri, Brave Lyn, Klein, and Sakura, with all being Def or Res Boon, depending on which is the optimal bane. I might have the worst luck, as on one banner, I racked up to 9.5% for a focus unit and the banner ended before I could summon again. Should I continue to play this game or should I stop wasting my time? Sorry if it seemed negative.

Games like these are hard to drop once you invest your time and resources in. Keep going, and beat the odds. They only beat you when you quit.

Though if you retire... eh, you got other things to do in life.

If you are Free 2 Play and don't have any particular heroes you are attached to delete the account and restart. If you don't get any good 5* with solid IVs delete and re roll until satisfied.

I think you could take it casually. Remember that there're people who have never pulled a Hector. A bad Hector is still better than no Hector.

definitely describes my situation been hoping for a hector since launch and he is still no where to be seen.

Plus its not just about the 5*s you pull, my best units are mostly neutral GHB units. Got into tier 20 arena and beat most of the infernal challenges and stuff with units I built up rather than the 5*s I pulled, since most were crap. Stuff like +def/-hp raven, -atk lucius and summer elise.

You should also look at the 3* and 4* units, check their IVs and see if there's good stuff there. Even 4* +10 units are amazing, like my felicia and cherche are amazing with perfect IVs and didnt cost that much to build hero feather wise.

edit: it's also way more satisfying building up your team than just getting everything as 5*s.

I am aswell. i get what you mean. I've gotten pretty lucky in the 5* department purely looking at the amount of. I have about 35 different 5* and about 7 of them have good or perfect IV's. About 15 of them are horrible or bad IV's and the rest somewhere in the middle.

It sucks missing banners or new units. Getting bad IV etc. but that is part of the game and part of F2P. I almost quit in the beginning but im really glad I stuck to it. You can really get really far just collecting the free orbs.

Almost anything in this game requires good IVs on characters. Maybe some GHBs on infernal or chain challenge/assault squad, but that's it. In arena it more often than not comes down to chosing well the units, but anything can go 7-0 and the points you get for it are not reallty determined by their IVs, but by BST and skillset. Also, I'm f2p an I've just been bouncing between ranks 19-20 for months now. Sure I don't have the merge level or the units to stay in 20 forever, but it only costs 1200 feahters every 2 weeks (rank 20 gets 3000 while 19 gets 1800) so it's not really a big deal.

I know what you mean, it can be frustrating sometimes. I also have a lot of bad IV 5* like -atk Elincia, Roy, Lukas, Delthea, Azura and Hector (whithout any of them being at least +atk) as well as -spd Celica and B!Lyn. But as someone already said, look at your 3* and 4* charatcers. There is a lot of them that are really good, and because they are more common maybe you have some good IVs. Effie, Reinhardt, Klein, Olivia, Nowi, Cordelia, Eirika, Kagerou, Nino etc are all really good characters available as 3* or 4*. You can promote them to 5* or even make a 4* merged unit, and probably with a good IV.

Also and probably more important, know what's your goal. Why are you playing this game? I know I'm playing to collect characters I like from Fire Emblem games I've played, so even if my Elincia, Delthea and Celica have bad IVs I don't really care because my more important goal was to just have them. Sure they are also great units and a good IV would be a nice bonus, but that's it - just a bonus. Now I'm not saying you have to have the same goal as me. But honestly unless you want to stay rank 20 in arena forever (which then you need merged units so you would proably have at least one with good IV anywas), you can do anything with bad IV characters.

Also, just to mention that my -atk+res Hector was literally my first 5*, which I pulled a couple days after the game launched, and I'm still using it today. And he's still pretty effective.

But if the game is ever being more frustrating then enjoyable, you should probably take a few days or weeks off to see if it gets more enjoyable when you play again.
