Should I merge?

Recently, made a post about which Takumi I should use(post can be found at the bottom of page 3) and the answer was the second one. And now I have another question which is: should I merge my Takumi or keep them.

You can use one as a Close Counter fodder but it's somewhat tricky to figure out who should inherit it based on stats, because most of the ranged units have terrible tanky stats that they wouldn't benefit much from this skill, or the ranged attacker would want something that's actually more useful on them for their A slot.

I agree with you. Hm... Matthew and Saizo might work well with close counter.

I was planning a joke build with Matthew that has;
Reciprocal Aid
Bonfire
Rouge Dagger
Close Counter
Vantage/Quick Riposte/Poison Strike
Threaten Atk/Spd

When Matthew initiates combat, the rouge dagger buffs his def and res, while debuffing the target's def and res. With threaten Atk active, and lucky no melee unit has a WTA against a colourless unit, he'll be able to survive quite well against melee units.

For me, I don't see what unit I would transfer Close counter too. I rarely pull grey units as I am desperate for a good green/blue unit.

Imo due to skill inheritance, I don't think I would consider Takumi to be the best archer anymore. The only thing that's good about him now is the close counter skill, which most archers aren't able to use effectively due to their fragile defence, well except maybe for Gordin and Virion. There's also have been quite a lot of mages in arena now, which are able to one shot Takumi due to his low Resistance or have raven tomes, which counters him badly. This is just my opinion though.
