So before the weapon refinery system came out, i was looking through my barracks for lower tiered units to merge together to clear up space and make a pretty strong unit. One of them was A.Tiki.
However now that weapon refinery has made dragons much stronger, I'm questioning if I should continue with this same supermerge 4* plan or if I should just take the best one and make it a 5* unit to get the refined weapon.
Which should I do?
Weapon refinery is way too good on dragons to miss out on. Even if you did want to 4* +10 you would still want to upgrade a lightning breath user up to fodder it to her, so I would say just 5* her. Dragons look to have a promising future and this should also give her even more potential for the future
4* +10 is much easier to get and is about the same as a 5 star in stats, maybe a little higher. It's worth around a 5* +3 in arena, but not totally sure. You have to 5 star at least one of the Tikis in order to unlock all her 5 star skills, like Lightning Breath+. But whether you want to spend 220k feathers or ~40k or less is up to you.
I always advise people to 5*. As you play the game, you are going to get more feathers. 4* + 10 means that there's no room for improvement once you +10. you might as well save those extra units and slowly build a 5* merged monster as you get the feathers, so that eventually you have the best Tiki possible with the units you sacrificed.
“A 4*+10 is equal to a 5*”
It’s actually at approximately +5 that a merged 4* matches a 5*. A 4*+10 is approximately equal to a 5*+5.
“Your always gonna get more feathers so merge a 5*”
Your also always gonna get more things to spend feathers on. 20k feathers buys a 5* weapon or a level 3 QR, or Aether or...all kinds of things. Not counting the initial unit a 4*+10 costs you 20,000 feathers while a 5*+5 (equivalent stats) costs you 100,000 feathers. That’s an ASTRONIMICAL number of skills, weapons, specials and units you could be building.
To make a 3* unit into a 4*+10 with all skills, weapon and special replaced with 5* exclusive skills costs 102,000, which is enough to build a 5*+5 (so equal stats) with only default skills.
5*+10 is going to be a huge project
4*+10 is a pet project
If you choose to embark upon the 5* route be prepared to invest in it for a very long time. Only those last 5 merges (100,000 feathers invested to break even) are going to make a difference.
