S!Gaius -hp +res idea

So, I've been trying to build my summer Gaius with these IVs, and I'm wondering how he would do as a dragon counter. Close counter would keep him enemy phase to stop the adaptive damage, and with buffs from his team, he could double nearly every dragon except for L!Robin. He should also definitely keep defense ploy. My only issue is, since he's generally fast enough to double, what seal and/or b skill should I use? Quick riposte wouldn't be too helpful due to his already massive speed, so I'm honestly not sure what to give him except for spd+3. I'm even less certain about what b skill he needs. Any ideas?

Also: He has his normal bow and iceberg/glacies; and a teammate has panic ploy.

Edit: He is also getting buffs from res and atk tactic.

Uhm... I thought archers/healers/mages still take adaptive damage because their range is still two? Even with Close Counter, they are still considered to be "Ranged" units.

Is my understanding of that wrong?

I figured that since it depended on range, if the dragon initiated, range would still be 1 and it wouldn't come into play. Then again, I'm not an expert.

He will still take damage based on his defense stat. Do not bait dragons with him. He'll collapse. His "range" is still 2 even though he can counter at any range.

Adaptive damage is really good. I kinda hate it. I want to bring my 40 res Niles out to play, but high res range 2 units get wasted by everything that isn't a mage. :(

I want to build mine with LnD3 (or fury) and desperation. Mine's got -hp +spd.

Vantage close counter would be great for baiting flying units at all ranges. And iirc he comes built in with vantage.
