Seth vs Eirika vs Seth

Hello, today got two interesting heroes of 3*.
Eirika and Seth.

I have already an Eirika 5* (level 40+4) with perfect IV and full built and another Seth with bad IV`s and hard to use in this moment (pretty bad).

The question is, should I merge my Eirika to level 40+5? Or shoudl I use my 20k feathers to make useable my Seth? I wanna like using all my FE8 characters (my favorite game) like Joushua, Ephraim, Lute, Tana, Marissa, L'Arachel... but my Seth is pretty useless...

a) Eirika: 40+4 --> 40+5 (is my first unit im merging)
b) Seth: +hp,-attack (he is my 5* right now) 40 --> 40+1
c) New Seth: +atack, -defense -> 4* --> 5* 40+1

Hmm. . . Honestly I would be tempted to go Eirika for now.

Neither of your Seth's have a great boon/bane combo in my opinion. I would probably focus on Seth merges either after you run out of Eirika's to promote or getting a desired boon/bane for him.

Only promote a Seth with good IV (+atk/+spd with -res) and if you have a silver sword/slaying sowrd/saveguard to inherit and enhance.

So in this case, go for the Eirika. She's a good unit to merge because she's just usefull on most teams. Everyone likes buffs.

I would hold on to the feathers.

You're not ready to +10 her, and you don't know when a better Seth might turn up.

If you're investing in a +10 merge, and a refined weapon, Seth's best bane is Hp, not Res. The refine and merges will give him +9 Hp anyway, and he can hit 35 Res with Fury and Fortify Cavalry.
