Sept 7 the end of Book II? Story Theory

So as the story goes at the end of chapter 8 Veronica is going to Muspell to be an offering for the Rite of Flames. Meanwhile the heroes are headed to face off against Surtr.

Here's how I see the story unfolding - heading to the Rite of Flames the Askrans confront Surtr as he's going to toss Veronica into the fire. Since saving Veronica would accomplish their goal of extinguishing the flames they do so. This allows her to eventually become the Brave Hero version in another world (as she says she had wanted to kill the Askrans, so she's clearly a derivative of the Veronica we know).

Just a random thought I'd share.
