Saving Orbs and plans for the future

I only have 6 orbs and no luck pulling the Thracia units at 5.5% rate, but I am still happy because I got some much needed skill fodder and a 4 star +Attack - Def Male Morgan which I promoted to 5 stars and Merge into my -Speed +Res Morgan! While I did not get Green Olwen or Leif, I am still happy that I got something out of it!

However, I think I now have a plan of what I'm going to do with my orbs.

I looked at the calendar and while Kinshi Hinoka, Ayra, and the next Legendary Hero are nice to get, I'm not pulling on any of the banners UNTIL May 9th (Aside from the free summons on the final days).

This is to prepare for Golden Week and also to see what the next set of new Heroes are coming towards the end of the Wings of Fate Banner and the other banners.

I learned from watching various F2P players that all of the banners seem to be bait before Golden Week and also before the next set of new Heroes (Maybe CYL2 units (Veronica, Hector, Ephraim, and Celica)). I say this because the next set of New Heroes has that banner only last for 10 days which is surprisingly short and VERY suspicious.

I think this can be helpful for everyone else as well if you are stingy on using orbs.

Also, I will try my best to not do any impulsive spending prior to May 9th because the odds are not quite favorable unless you get lucky and
like I mentioned, these banners seems like a hard bait until May 10th for the new heroes with a very short banner length.

I like to hear your suggestions about any other tips for saving F2P orbs. Hopefully this is helpful! Any other feedback or observations to talk about is very appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I've noticed that I personally make poor decisions (spending orbs instead of saving them) late at night, so now I've stopped playing past midnight.

... The only advice I can give to stop you from spending orbs is...

...well don't spend orbs.

Look carefully at what units are being shown in banners and think long and hard about if you actually NEED them.

I am a FTP player that currently has 239 orbs (Yes, I know, it's crazy)
I haven't pulled on any banners for a month and a half, and I've been doing fine.
My orb-spending strategy is asking myself: "Do I really need this unit, or will it just make my team a bit better?"
If no, don't pull unless there's a unit you like. (I dumped over 100 orbs into the Ephraim Legendary banner and Morgan Banner because there were flying mages, which I have none of, but I didn't pull on the Tharcia Banner, even though Olwen would a better blade tome user than Gunnthra )If you can, do all of the quests that will end soon, so you can amass resources for later. Hero Feathers are one way a FTP player can become competitive with +10 merges.
I hope to grab some nice units with my saved orbs :)
Also, good luck to all as well. Just think before you summon, and assume a reasonable worst-case scenario.

I'm in the same basket; I just spent my last bit of orbs trying to get Ayra, when frankly, I have no need for an Ayra whatsoever. :') I get baited ez.

I spent a lot on the Cooldowns banner though, and for a good reason - I want as much Steady Breath as possible, and I wanted at least one Wrath too. Fortunately, I did manage to get me a Wrath, so that's all cool. No luck on the Breath though.

I think I'll try my best to save up now, as best as I can anyways, because I want Zelgius or Fallen Robin to be on a nearby banner. Don't really care for the new one with Shigure, Kana, and Hinoka (though Hinoka would be beast af), so I'm just chilling now.

Not much new to say about saving orbs. Im using same strategy here, im asking myself a question: do i need that character and for what exactly? If the answer is something like i want it but i dont know why i don't spend orbs there. Also i never fooder rare 5* star unit for skills and just forcing any 5* unit i get to work. Also some 4* and ghb characters are great if you promote them, consider this as an option to save some orbs as well.
