Salvaging a bad IV Halloween Jakob

Among my 8% banner haul was a H!Jakob. Unfortunately, he is cursed with probably one of the worst spreads for him: +spd -def.

How can I salvage him? Note that I don't have a spare Distant Def A skill on me.

Update:

Since I completed all three difficulties of Kana's GHB, I chose to use a spare one of him to feed Jakob Brazen Def/Res. This should serve him well as a DD substitute.
