Is safeguard really useful any any character?

I was planning to summon one 5 star on the Legendary banner then stop and I ended up getting Lene on the free summon and saved all my orbs.

Lene's +Res -HP so I'm deciding whether to build her but I want to know if there's any good users of safeguard first on case i want to fodder her.

Any tanky sword unit who doesn’t have a Prf weapon can use it well. Arden, Draug, Seth, and Palla can use it well

Selena can be very solid with it.

Just be sure to level her up to 40 first.

NY Camilla is also a very good option! I managed to get 3 Lene, so I kept one and the other two I gave to Seth and her.

Seliph, Laslow, and Chrom all have very similar statlines - high Def and high Atk, low Spd and Res. You can build them with Safeguard, Sturdy Stance/Steady Stance/Steady Breath, QR/Guard, and Bonfire to make them pretty decent melee enemy phase units.

I actually think Safeguard is super underutilized especially in “Recommended Builds” on the site.

Safeguard is an extremely useful weapon on units that are mixed/enemy phase oriented. Like others have stated, units like Selena, Laslow, Hinata, Arden, etc, all make good use of the skill since it buffs their defense by quite a lot, and stacks with Close Defense, allowing for some sweet Bonfire/Ignis damage.
