S! Corrin Weapon Refining

I currently have a +SPD -ATK Summer Corrin (not the best IVs, but whatever works), and I’m running Desperation and Swift Strike on her. Should I refine Sealife Tome with an ATK effect to deal more damage or SPD effect to guarantee doubles (increase to 41 ATK or 39 SPD)?

I have a Hinoka woth Hone Fliers and a Cherche with Goad Fliers to amplify both, and will always have at least one of them.

Definitely not attack. Attack is hardly ever worth it in most cases, and this is definitely one of those cases as it only increases the mt by a whole one point.

Agree 100%. 1-2 extra attack will probably secure you far less ORKOs than 2-3 extra spd on any weapon, especially the way spd is getting powercreeped these days.

Plus, with her kind of stats, +spd -atk in my books is asking for the blade tome treatment. It's a bit conventional and dry, but it's effective.

If you don't have feathers, even a 4* blade tome (not Blárblade+) will do. It's like having another atk bane stacked on her inherent atk bane; both of them will not matter when the blade tome hits for an extra 24 flat damage using the hone and fortify fliers buffs she receives.

Just tested the Blarblade build, and I gotta admit that it is optimal in certain situations, much like the Brave Axe build, but find it a bit too reliant on team composition, especially if it’s not flier emblem

Well, you can give S!Corrin a Bladetome when outside of Flier Emblem, but she won't be getting maximum damage output most likely. There are multiple units that can give visible buffs for her, like PA!Azura. Lene is also someone that can give buffs, especially now with the addition of Earth Dance, giving her the ability to buff attack, speed, and defense when dancing. There's also dual Rally skills and units like Sothe, or M!Morgan, or Light Breath+ dragons, that can help buff her up.

While it is true that it's really dependent on team composition, it's really not too difficult to buff a Bladetome unit outside of -Emblem teams.

Basically what Krazytre said. Outside of flier emblem, let's say you use Eirika because she's great at buffing and then buffs herself by buffing her teammates, and you use hone spd and either fortify def or fortify res seal. If you're using the 4* Blárblade with fury 2 (i.e. hyper-budget build), S.Corrin strikes with 43 atk + 12 damage from blade tome effect and 43 spd, and we haven't factored in a seal. 55 effective atk for very lackluster skills is impressive.
