Reinhardt Defense Build

So from week to week I have barely been able to eek by an arena defense win to net myself the 900 feathers, but I’ve been looking to put some jank builds on a team to get wins more consistently. A build I’ve been wanting to throw together is this Reinhardt:

-HP +Atk
Dire Thunder
Reposition
Luna
Life and Death
Watersweep
whatever
Phantom Speed

Is there any viability to this build, or should I try it on Olwen instead to sacrifice power for easer access to Watersweep. Also, I personally think Watersweep would be better since most people like to use magic checks to kill Reinhardt, but might Windsweep have any merit?

A different Reinhardt build (which is arguably worse than the regular deathblow + breaker one) will hardly grant you a more consistent defense winrate. Maybe you should look at the whole team lineup and maybe change it up a bit?

Well, the idea is to catch people off guard, as everyone and their dog is either prepared for or expecting the traditional Reinhardt build, especially at a score range in which they are plentiful.

Well, the basic idea is not bad, but sweep skills with Reinhardt seem to me like a really inconsistent combo. Considering that you have phantom speed maxed (so +10 fake speed), you will be able to sweep mages with 33 spd. You would then have to think about which heroes will you actually be able to "surprise" with this thing - If the AI goes mad and attacks some popular unmerged mage tanks, such as Micaiah, the change won't really be noticable, because she still has the res to tank it. It might prove useful against some dragons, but I don't know if your defense team will meet dragon-centered teams, due to low scoring of horses.

If you want to surprise the enemy, you must have a synergy between all the heroes in your team. Also by potentially denying the enemy mage's follow-up attack, you are robbing yourself of the opportunity of abusing a WoM dancer to give Reinhardt a second shot and also by including LnD, you are making Reinhardt pretty squishy and exposing him to easy one-shots.

That's actually not so bad...it can get especially annoying if he gets Repositioned away.

One thing that annoys me if when he's packing Fortify. Apparently people sleep on his durability, but he doesn't really struggle to reach mid 30s Def (and maybe Res) if he's on that. I once had baited him into my TA Julia and he survived with 1 HP for Azura to fly in and kill her. ),:<

Or rather his Attack getting neutered by Panic Ploy. If I ever pull another Faye I could definitely run the infamous Firesweep Bow Brave Lyn alongside him to supply those buffs while also being very annoying. Also, I could see Goad and Ward Calvary being viable options. I guess it really is all about the anti-meta.

Use character that are hard to kill in one fight and use Reinhardt with Wings of mercy to catch someone offguard
