Regarding Eirika

We aren't sure why she is a magic user, right? Some say it has to do with Lyon possibly corrupting her. I looked up what anamnesis means, and it means... remembrance? Remembering stuff from a previous existence?

I am also thinking about the possibility that this is a result of her possible relationship with Saleh? In their supports, he speaks as if she is the reincarnate of the Brave Warrior Princess of Caer Pelyn, Nada Kuya.

I think that the Brave Warrior Princess has a mouthful of a name and that I'm grateful that you told me what 'anamnesis' means. I was curious.

Nada Kuya was said to wield a sword, which is where the comparison came from in the first place. The Lyon theory is more accurate.

I theorize that it could be one of 4 things...

1: unit variation by IS. Not the worst thing in the world, just a bit odd. Might be a sign of things to come.

2: possibly a fan fiction dream come true for one of the designers. But who am I to say no to some dreams being made?

3: possibly they know something about a future fire emblem title that features Eirika as a tome user. Who knows? It could happen.

4: they wanted a tome user that was red other than Leo, and they decided to use a popular character rather than use a character who would fit as a Valkyrie due to SS game appearances. Can’t fault them for trying to use popularity to generate revenue (let’s face it, if they put Wrys on a horse with a red tome, he’d probably do well among memers but not among the FE faithful).

Regarding mounted red tome users, they could add existing Valkyrie characters like Selena (the Sacred Stones one, not to be confused with the Fates one), but that would lead to name problems. Or it could be Ewan's promotion (like how Amelia's was General). There really wasn't any need to give Eirika a tome she can't use in-game

I agree, there would have been tons of other mages to take the position of red mage cavalry. I just hope they don't make Ewan mounted. That would ruin him for me. Everyone knows Ewan is promoted into Druid class.

i still think knoll would have been better and make more sense.

There was a well known glitch in sacred stones that allowed her to use dark magic if i recall correctly
IS is fully aware of that glitch as well so this may be a throwback to those times for fans of the series
its pretty famous for fans but many others who just skipped sacred stones or played it only once may not know about it

I am prety sure all SS fans know of the glitch. Still, giving the unique tome to Eirika feels absurd. She could have had one of the more generic tomes that are not in game yet (Luna+, Nosferatu+, Eclipse(?)) or if the purpose was to honor the enemy control glitch, Demon Surge would have been more fitting.
Furthermore, making a common unit remake of a common unit doesn't sound right since there are hundreds of heroes left and even in the FE8 they could have picked someone who is not in game yet, like Tethys, to represent the Glitched character (she was the most glitched after all. Dance for the darkness and freeze the time!).

Nosferatu and Nosferatu+ are technically in the game already. All Fenrir tomes translate to "Nosferatu" in the japanese language. However, the "tome" itself only damages and doesn't heal, like how it works in-game. No idea why IS doesn't fix the name of the tome, of it's meant to be like that.

Well, Gleipnir being the S rank tome from sacred stones is rather fitting for that
they wanted to give her a unique weapon apparently
though i cant say im a fan of everyone getting a unique weapon lately
kinda cheapens the impact in my opinion

they arent obligated to fill the missing slots of every title right away
horse eirika works after all and if IS decided on that, i bet there are many who are happy with it
though i was surprised as well of course
it certainly is one of the more odd choices they made
but i believe this is just to show what is to come from this point onward
telling us "hey, youre not happy with how youre favourite character turned out, dont worry"
kinda feels like something around those lines
