The reduction of cost of unlocking a unit's potential...
IMO, 20,000 feathers is quite expensive. Why can't the cost be reduced 50% less. I hope the prices get reduced in the next update or something, it's too expensive for me.
To make a 4* unit to 5* will be 10,000 feathers
3* to 4* will cost 1,000 feathers
2* to 3* will cost 100 feathers

People have been saying that since the beginning of the game. It used to take literally about a month to save up the feathers for a single 5 starring if you were F2P. Now, it's almost one per week. It's actually better than it would be if they downgraded the costs early on but didn't increase the amount of feathers they gave us much. Just try to grind hero merit on grand hero maps and TT's. That will make things way more affordable.

I've played a lot of MMO/RPG's...
The grinding in this game makes me wanna blow my brains out. At least with mmo's and such you're actually doing something, even if it is mindlessly pressing the same keys, or doing the same combo's over and over.
FEH, on the other hand, is literally just tapping the screen. Grinding in this game is more tedious than most, if not any, other grind game I've played. XD

20k is a bit much, but it isn't unreasonable to get that many in a week or 2. What I'd like to see is an increase in feathers for sending a unit home and a bigger reduction from merges.
1000 for a 4* would be nice, as that is 5% of the upgrade cost (or 50% or what you paid to make it 4* if it was 3*), seems like a reasonable number to me.

During one of the earlier updates they reduced the discount that merged units get for upgrading. I was kind of irritated because I want five star everything. My 40 + 10 four star Olivia suddenly cost 1000 extra feathers to upgrade. What gives.
We get more feathers now and 99% of the time that will need faster upgrades which is great. But we've literally had backwards movement on the cost of upgrading merged units since the game was released. Very disappointing. You also get less feathers for sending home

I would have to agree that 20,000 feathers are a hell of a lot, especially for an F2P player like myself, however, I don't find it extremely hard to grind Hero Merit for 20,000 feathers a day, and that's excluding feathers from Arena, quests, and other events.
Somehow I believe that the reduction of GHB and BHB stamina costs to 0 was a clever way to allow more frequent upgrading of units. I don't know if they ever intended for people to try and automate their games to cycle through a battle, but even manually clicking "auto battle' is not too hard.
In fact, right now, I have my iPhone on Switch Control going through the Navarre GHB, making me 15 HM every ~30 secs or so (including the time it takes to go through the menu and skip the dialogue, not just the battle). Considering that 1 HM = 1 Feather, and your aim is 20,000 feathers, you can get that amount in about ~11 hours. I'm soloing the map so my main unit (L!ike) is maxed out on HM, but if yours isn't yet, you can cut your time down to ~8hours. Albeit this a hefty length of time, but the effort it takes to perform this is close to zero if you use something like switch control or an emulator. I could see some people averse to using emulators, as it's essentially botting, but using Switch Control does not tamper into your game or your system in any way whatsoever.
Also, you guys are all saying it takes you ~1-3 weeks to make 20,000 feathers -- 11 hours doesn't sound like too a bad deal, does it?
EDIT: Also, you can do this while you're asleep. You could make 20,000 hero feathers while dreaming!

Actually, according to my approximate calculations, it takes 11 hours to get 4 units up to 5000 HM each, or 20,000 Hero Feathers. Granted, this is assuming that all units are level 40 (rarity doesn't matter), as level affects how much HM is received per unit. Also, I don't even have the most optimal setting for beating Navarre. Some can get it down to ~20 secs instead of ~30. In addition, the set up I'm using on Navarre is 100% F2P. Just the free L!Ike with his base kit and three unequipped Lvl. 40s.

This claim was warranted when it lacked arena assault and arena gave 50% less feather's in both offense and defense as well as Tempest Trials and Hero Merit.
With the arrival of the Tactic Drill we will have at least 600 more per week so we can not complain much.
For every month, doing all the quests and events will go at least 120,000. At this moment (12 days) I made 95,000 and look that has 3 weeks still ...
Terror was in the beginning when it was 4,000 a week struggling a lot.

I've currently got 3 merge projects, Camilla, Sophia and Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn is 3 merges away from +10. Camilla is +2 merged and I've put Sophia aside. I need to focus on them as I've been spending feathers as if it grows on trees and I need to start planning what I'm going to do in the future.

You will reach that amount. Next week we will probably have a tempest trial, outside the 3 weeks of Arena and Arena Assault, only there yields at least 35,000.
We need to see now the other events scheduled for the month, we can have GHB Infernal, Blessed Garden and Grand Conquest, yields 20,000

The promotion costs are high, but events are the best way to get feathers. Grand Conquest can give almost 16,000 if you max out your territory control each round. Voting Gauntlet can give a maximum of 13,000 for top 1K each round and overall while winning each round. Tempest Trials+ can also be a great way to get feathers. With Grand Hero Battles being free, you can autobattle them and every 100 times on lunatic is 500 Hero Merit. Yes, we don’t get a lot of free feathers, but there are ample opportunities to get them. The cost should not be lowered; people just need to learn that hard work pays off, and is the reason I can max merge a unit in under a month.

You can have the capability, but it takes a lot of effort if you are doing it without using any kind of automation. I play Grand Hero Battles the old fashioned way because I do not have any automated programs that let me do it in my sleep. The events are the cash cow. I’ve been working on a Shigure and took him from unmerged to +5 in under 2 weeks.
