anyone know why eirika is a red tome unit? is this just a call back to the glitch in SS that players abused to give everyone the ability to use black magic?
i was really hoping they'd do that for tethys but oh well no Stone+ for us just yet
No idea why...but I'm disappointed that they released a new version of an existing hero rather than going for another of SS' cast. Especially with the CYL up and running... I'm a bit bothered that existing heroes will start seeing re-releases outside of CYL and exclusive events. Meh, I'd rather see a ton of different heroes with fewer repeats.
But at least there's another mounted red mage now!
If any of you actually played SS, then you'd know she becomes a mounted unit later in the story. Although I don't know why IS even bothered with making her a tome unit or even adding her in the first place in FEH. CYL is still ongoing and IS decides to drop another dupe? It hurts Eirikas chances. IS could've easily added Knoll, Cormag, Ross, Garcia, Neimi, Etc. Yet they didn't, I really don't understand IS thinking at all LOL. I hope to god this isn't a free pass for IS to ignore the original Eirikas much needed weapon refinement.
She never did use magic, but you could glitch her into using it. Maybe IS wanted to relive the glorious glitching days. Mine glitch was where it was at, especially on Hector Hard mode in Blazing Blade. I remember 3 levels I legit could not beat unless I mine glitched them (even with a level 20 squad) and forced every unit on the board to drop their weapons, just to watch a bunch more spawn on the next several turns. Maybe I was just bad at Blazing Blade. Lol
Honestly, I’m not too concerned with how they did Eirika. I was pretty steamed about it last night, and I definitely get why some people aren’t ok with her design, but at the same token, wait to see what her IVs are. Maybe she’ll be a solid red tome user with the perk or ponying up. If she is, I wouldn’t be upset if I pulled her. Horse blade 2 is now an official possibility for me, so I’m actually kind of excited.
I think people would still be upset even if she had good IVs.
Are they gonna add even more AU! units that aren't special/seasonal units?
Are we gonna get an AU!Ephraim that's gonna be him being a flying mage?
So many questions that's gonna be asked because we're getting a second version of a unit, and it's not necessarily making much sense. It's not necessarily like Masked Marth and Lucina, so it's kinda weird that they're doing this.

I only use horse blade on maps that can be useful for it. As an arena defense team, it would take a very foolish player to lose to an AI that is clueless on how to properly utilize it. I use it in AA as a near guaranteed auto-win for a map, but beyond that I would also only use it on maps that would be easily beatable with it, such as new chapter quests that require you to use certain color units or BHB or GHB where horse blade would make quick work of the map. Why run a team that would be likely to get 0 defends rather than one that could score between 3-8 in a single week?
Also, I think gold units would be fun. Why not toss a gold Ephraim in, or a gold Lucina? Lol Au=gold
