A recap of the new unit's BST

Micaiah has 139 BST.
Xander has 140.
Ryoma also has 140.
And Elincia has 139 BST.

Do you think their spreads are good despite having some of the lowest BST in the game or it is atrocious?

Not:When I checked Elincia and compared her with Ryoma, she traded 3 points of attack,2 points of HP and 1 point of defence to get 1 extra point of speed and 4 points of resistance

I don't care how bad some people may end up thinking they are, I will go hard summoning for as many copies of Micaiah and Elincia as I can get! I want my kimono wearing Tellius girls!

Xander and Ryoma I'll pass on, here's to hoping whenever I summon there's always at least one red or green orb to choose from.

Dude, you are beyond wrong. Hell, Micaiah has the same stat spread but for Res. Elincia is a slightly bulkier Ryoma (and slightly more offensive Olivia at that). Ryoma is a interesting unit, offensive yet not hella broken, and Xander is the same archetype as he usually is.

Both Micaiah and Xander remain the best in this banner, stat wise, if you are talking about skill fodder though, then that's debatable.

This Micaiah hits even harder, in fact. Regular Micaiah neutral atk has 49 with weapon and no A-skill. This Micaiah neutral atk has 51 atk with weapon and no A-skill.

Plus, lots of the good armours are green.

So I haven't played Fates, but I can tell you that with all the attention that Nohrian royalty has gotten in this game, I actually want to play it, and I am excited at the very least for Xander.

I'll probably pull even though I don't have many orbs.

Well, they are as expected for dancing ranged weapon users. I haven't really looked too closely on their stat spreads as I don't usually like to get ahead of myself before I actually summon a new unit, but from what I glanced they seemed appropriate for their secondary roles. After all, first and foremost they are there to dance!

I'll be happy to score any of them, really, but would most like the dagger users.

This is a question very much worth exploring.

What I wanted to say last night and my tablet kept crashing is that these units are extremely min-maxed. In the case of Xander and Micaiah, definitely to the point where they compete with units 7-8 BST higher because they give up those points in their lowest stats.

Xander with 35 def? That's more than Alfonse, freaking...

Micaiah has more atk than even her regular version due to the prf's +3. The main difference I noticed is that without a breaker (and I think she should in most cases use wings of mercy) she will probably get doubled by even slow mages such as Lilina, which is potentially problematic. Regular Micaiah probably has a draw against any mage in the 25-33 spd range.

Ryoma and Elincia are not so easy. 32/34 offenses is maybe mediocre, and swords are often extremely fast. 29/35 is fast enough but doesn't hit too hard; TA+moonbow may solve this problem. However, they both have such low defenses that I think it's fair to interpret them as glass cannons, in which case maybe they do have issues because most glass cannons are faster than them and probably hit harder. (And blade tomes are no help to these two.) If these two want to succeed in combat, I would expect them to need significant team support, which is probably they should be giving to the team instead of taking. They are, after all, dancers.

Ryoma and Xander are not too different from their OG selves. Ryoma being fast with good atk and less than stellar defenses, and Xander with high def, moderately high atk and low Spd and Res.

These new units scream mediocre to me tbh; their BSTs are crap, They don’t have enough Atk to make use of their Effective damage, they’re Dagger users so they’re supposed to be offensive but their weapons have Hardy Bearing so no Desperation

Report

I definitely think they don't work well with their original weapons. Agreed that they should use desperation if they want to be offensive units.

I don't think daggers should necessarily be offensive though. I usually think of them as secondary units on the team who cover some needs the team's principals cannot.

About their BST, of course it is poor; did you expect otherwise of a dancer?

Report

Unless you only care about Arena, BST really doesn't matter; it's how the stats are laid out within the units.

Xander's is really nice considering he has Close Counter and QR.
Micaiah's is a slow and tanky mage again, which only really needs QR to work well.
Ryoma and Elincia seem to be more offensive with slight stat differences.

To me, all of them are good.
