Re-thinking Navarre?

With the following update, Navarre will be so happy. At last he gain a slaying sword without inheritance, and his special skill will reduce it cooldown in one, two if you ad the slaying/killer weapon. He'll reach 45 attack with 37 spd, with desperation and blazing wind with 3 turns. I find it crazy. And if you give him LnD... What do you think? Is Navarre "The Revenant"?

With the refinement, I believe going for Spd+3 for his Slaying Edge+ Might be best. He's still not as good as other Sword units but it's something.

He's still pretty awful... I mean if you fully support him and merge him as much as you can then he'll at least be useable. But even in that case, he's worse then a vast number of other sword units who fill the same role but do it a thousand times better.

So if you really like him and want to make him good, go for it and that build is a start. Just don't be surprised that any average Ike, Ryoma, or Ayra will continue to wreck his shit lol

The way you say "awful" doesn't even come close to that. He's not top dog, but to be worse than the other "thousands" doesn't make you terrible. It's just literally what it is. If you're the worse among a handful of good characters, you can still be good.

31/37 (Atk/Spd) is pretty solid, at least until the developers completely forgot and started giving new swordies silly statspreads with disgusting base kits and personal weapons (Ayra and Mia). I wouldn't even say Navarre is built for Killers/Slayer types. Quad is what goes with that kind of spread, and he can do alright with it (aka kill stuff).

Well, Weapon Refining opens up F2P potential but it’s not like he couldn’t run it before, and my guess is that farming Forging/Crafting Materials will probably the same as, if not much harder than getting feathers.
So the way I look at it is like getting a Slaying Edge fodder at 4 star (by the way, when’s this finally happening IS?) and promoting them to give to Navarre. But unless we get new skills that changes his build he’s still the same as he’s always been.

Even discounting Ayra and Mia, Hana is still better due to availability and IV optimization. Wo Dao+ is still probably gonna be better than Slaying Edge+ on offensive units since both are gonna be up-gradable. .
All in all, he does get better, but so did nearly everyone else so he doesnt move up or down the ladder.
