Rate my Shock-and-Ogma
Hi all!
Building up tier 1 characters is boring, no? Using the same old lame old skills and specials?
I was thinking about who could be made into a great off-meta unit, and obviously Ogma came to mind. Ogma is supposedly outclassed by characters like Ayra and Mia, but those are 5* only. However, Hana is 3-4* and, worse, Soleil is 4* as well. Soleil even matches one of Ogma's redeeming qualities, defense. So, aside from just being way cooler and underused (and cooler because he is underused), what does he have that no other sword unit has?
Well duh, it's HP.
So here is the build:

Disclaimer, this Ogma goes into battle with Fjorm, who is key to this build working. Fjorm runs Shield Pulse (natively), along with Miracle and Quickened Pulse. You are starting to get where I'm going with this right? Miracle starts at 1 cooldown, thanks to the combo of QP, Shield Pulse and Infantry Pulse from Ogma. I have yet to find a character that oneshots Fjorm at full health, meaning it's quite easy to get her to 1 HP.
As soon as Fjorm get's there, you use Reciprocal Aid on her with Ogma et voila: full health Fjorm and Ogma is ready to blow everything up. The thing that really got me going here is how many things he oneshots once he reaches 1 HP. For example, give him a measly 5 Attack boost (Fjorm again with Drive Atk and Ally Support) and he OHKO's Effie.
That's right. Effin Effie.
His rain of terror does not end here however. Some of you may think that there is too much set up involved with too little reward. Sure one-hitting a blue armored unit is funny and all (did I mention he OHKO's 222 other heroes like this in the Kagero dmg calc?), but then he's left at 1 HP and basically useless? Wrong.
The combination of Wrath (reducing cd by 1 at the start of the turn when <75%) and Slaying Edge+ will guarantee a 0 cooldown reprisal from this point on. The carnage can continue next turn. This is also the reason we don't pick Vengeance or any other special. Stuff like Bonfire has too high of a cooldown, whereas Glimmer or Moonbow provide too little damage boost. Remember, this is Ogma. Not some stupid viable sword unit.
I usually also pair him up with something like PAzura or another green with reposition to keep him safe, because obviously, this build has a little drawback in that some things actually dare kill him when he is at 1HP. However, he does look like a baws so he basically still wins.
