Radiant Dawn/Binding Blade Post Thoughts

I'm pretty sure by now everyone knows of the future RD/Binding Blade banners coming next year, and are somewhat excited for it. Yet there's one thing that keeps me from being truly excited.

The side note of IS telling fans of the process of making new units bothers me, as it kinda implies that IS has received numerous criticisms of not releasing heroes frequently, especially from the two aforementioned games. This also troubles me, as it more or less paints the FEH community as a whole as a generally ungrateful and dissatisfied one.

Of course, I'm not arguing that people shouldn't be vocal about what they want in FEH; rather, I'm concerned to the extent that people have been going to force IS to let us know months in advance about new banners.

Thoughts? Also I apologize for rambling but it's something I want to see some opinions on.

I mean IS had to put out a warning for BB at least 2 years is an awful long time for one banner and every banner people demanded answers so...
the minority’s really want BB representated so IS did the right thing
The reason they stayed March was because it takes 6 months for everything so they likely just started making the art etc

Well, maybe the FEH community actually IS a generally ungrateful and dissatisfied one. I wouldn't know, but it could be. If it's true, maybe we deserve to be painted that way.

In this situation I don't think it is a testament to the fans being whiny or ungrateful. They might be hinting at beasts units and addressing their negligence in adding FE6 characters for quite some time (Over a year+ if I can recall).

The lack of gratitude may come from the general complaining of certain units and game modes being "dead on arival" (even though Forging Bonds is just a way to send daily stamina and give feathers).
PS: Relay Defense is pretty bad though

Im a supporter for IS taking there time for new content. Needing artist, voice actors, and sprite animations takes time. Sure some people are impatient for content but getting judged from other people as a whole community is normal with game groups. That why you shouldn't worry with stuff like that, be concerned on what YOU do and not the ones that do the salt withen 😃

This game is a giant casino slot machine and the company has already pulled in over a billion dollars in sales, so blaming the users as "ungrateful and dissatisfied" sounds like non sequitur.

If I.S.'s goal is to maximize sales and profits, then they have absolutely zero reason to complain about customer feedback no matter how negative or demanding.

And to be fair to the users, considering that this game requires spending at least a couple hundred dollars every new banner just to keep up with the getting a single copy of new units and that there are at least 2 new banners every month when only considering Legendary and Seasonal, I.S. has no ground to complain about user demands It's not as if they let you pick one copy of your favorite character for free from each new banner after all. If anything, it smells of fear that new gachas might be pulling away users with more attractive game play and better unit acquisition systems.

Basically, the cracks and imperfections are starting to show more obviously with this game and other games are starting to look more attractive. Some other gachas have their seasonal alts as "outfits" for units you already have rather than a whole new separate unit that power creeps the original. Furthermore other games also have more diverse game modes. After all, what is the game play with Fire Emblem Heroes beyond "Build & Bench" for new units? Maybe trot them out for the odd Tempest Trial or Arena season?

To me it seems that I.S. is complaining about having to actually work and actually innovate and making their game FUN to stay popular instead of resting on nostalgia of their fanbase and fanservice.

But that's just my two cents take it how you will.

You're complaining about an implication of an implication of an insult.

I take the attitude that fans could almost always create a better spin-off game (or, at least, new content) than the spin-off game's makers - and this becomes more and more true the later in the spin-off game's life cycle you go, ironically when the fans would follow official or unofficial rules, and the game makers will break them, but in a brazen fashion. It's when they're making a new and non-derivative game in a series that game makers introduce new characters and mechanisms that, though fans may initially hate it or be put off, ultimately move the series forward (for instance, mega evolutions and Z-moves in Pokemon, possibly Laguz units in the overarching Fire Emblem series from the perspective of possibilities/lore).

Some things like Yu-Gi-Oh! are sort of built upon breaking their own rules. Games like Injustice Mobile or Fire Emblem Heroes become financially incentivized to outdo original content in waves. For instance, in FEH, they're now stacking trainee bonuses (Kliff, L!Tiki, H!Myrrh) on what was once a trainee bonus.
