Question about Merging?

So I got a bunch of 3 star Robin's recently and I'm going to merge them into my main Robin. Thing is I'm wondering if I should merge the 3 stared units together first and then level that Robin up to a 5 star so I can merge into my 5 star Robin. Will that give my main 5 star unit all the previous merges or not and I should just level them up one at a time?

When merging, if you class up, you lose every merge that unit has. So if you have a 4*+10 merged, classing up makes them a vanilla 5*, 0 merges. You have to level them all up into the class you want for merging, and then feed them to each other to creat a merged unit (so if you want a 5* merged unit, you’re going to need 220,000 feathers just to go from 4-5, and if you had 3* previously, tack on another 2,000 for a grand total of 242,000 feathers). So I’d recommend either making a 4* +10 (do not unlock potential beyond that) or start saving feathers.

No. If you want your 5* unit to have more than +1 merge bonus, you must make all of your 3* Robins into 5*s, and then merge them into the main 5* unit. If you merged all your 3*s first, you would lose your merges as soon as you unlock potential. So, unlock potential first, then merge.
