A question about BST

So I had 4900 arena score and missed T20 by about 40 spots on the final day of arena this last week and I had a question about base stat total when factoring attack points.

Does BST account for weapon might? Does it count skills that raise stats (+3 attack, speed, fury, etc.?) I also heard having high SP cost skills helps, any truth to this? I’ve always floated between tier 17 and 18 but I’d like to push into T20 now that I’ve built a solid core.

First what's your core. Second, it's there stat total without factoring in excess boosts(weapons and skills). That's why merges help more than skills.

I have +Atk -HP Hinoka, +atk -res LA Hector, and a +7 merged Adult Tiki that is +def and I can’t remember her bane.

Then the fourth I plug based on that weeks bonus, so this week it’s ephraim. So skills make zero difference?

Skills do make a difference, some give more arena points than other (for example aether gives more points than bonfire, life and death 3 > speed +3, double rally skills > positional skills, etc...).

Sounds like you need a little more info on arena scoring. Here's a site that does arena calc for score ranges for you.

http://www.arcticsilverfox.com/score_calc/

Long story short, BST is based off of the non-merged version of your unit and their rarity, before skills are applied. It can't be altered by like a refined weapon or Fury or similar options, at least not since they patched that out early on in the game. Melee infantry and armor units will have higher BST than flier/cavalier and ranged units. Higher SP costs and sacred seal pseudo-SP costs help as well. If you have a solid arena core, see if you can start 5 star merging a few of your units. Even just a few merges should be enough to let you get to tier 20 consistently and score like low to mid 4900's or so.

Just a tip: if you're right on the border of being able to get to tier 20, you might want to try turning down the lower end matchups within your possible scoring range and be a little selective of the top of your range. For example, if your arena calc scoring from that website suggests that you can score 694 to 708, skip on every battle less than say a 702 or 704, and then if you can get a deathless run, you can end up with final score of like 4930 or so. If you just take every match, you'll probably end up with your average score of about 4900 over and over again. Since the line will slowly move up continually, you need to work on merges or just use melee units to help you score a little higher. Also, make sure you finish your builds and make them good, somewhat expensive builds, the SP cost really helps score as well. Atk +3 costs a lot less SP than Fury 3, so Fury 3 would be an option to upgrade a unit with.

Thanks for the info Vash, I will definitely check out that site.

Also you suggest passing on some attacks that offer lower scoring. By that do you mean surrender and start over? Like if I have a deathless run at 6 wins you think I should surrender and start over if the advanced score offered is only a 694 instead of 704?

Report

No. I mean if you see the scores of the 3 options of difficulty before selecting one, you don't have to take the offer up. You can burn a sword just to view the options, then don't go into it if the score is too low. It won't reset your win streak if you don't enter battle. So be selective about which battles you take on and you can ramp your score up a little bit.

Interesting. I've also floated between 17-19 in the past but this week I hit 20 for the first time. But my score was 4908. Barely higher than yours and I made it.

Were you in tier 19?

Report

Yes I was T19 with 4898 score and I was rank like 1k on Wednesday but as the week progressed I kept dropping lower and lower and in the last 2 hours before it ended I was 13,600 something and missed it by like 40 spots
