Promoting GHB units

Hey guys,

I got to a point in the game, where I promoted all the units that I really wanted and I'm now looking towards those GHB units that I haven't really used, but would like to change that for some of those and I would appreciate your suggestions from a fun/interesting playstyle viewpoint, because I don't really care too much about arena viability.
The heroes are:

Lloyd - I see him as a decent (and relatively cheap to build) antimage and the fact that he has a legendary weapon sort of gravitates me toward him.

Navarre - don't really like him, because there are not that many ways of creatively building him, since (as far as I know) he can only utilize a Wo Dao desperation build, which would make him just a worse Athena and therefore not really fun to play with.

Michalis - another legendary weapon and a more slower and tankier version of his sister. Could be fun to go for a full tank build, but I don't know if it's not just my naiive imagination.

Narcian - his stat spread makes him only really viable for that Emerald axe, so his builds are probably super limited and therefore boring. I hope someone can prove me wrong.

Legion - I really like his stat spread. I already have a +spd quad raven tho, so Legion would probably have to take a different route.

Ursula - could be fun as a blue blade mage in horse emblem teams, since I don't have Olwen. Also, virtual boobs.

Berkut - I'm still kind of mad about how they butchered him, but if someone actually found a way of building him in an enjoyable way then I'll go for him right away.

Clarisse - Brave bow is not going to happen with her, so a super situational chip dmg build could be interesting.

Well since it’s all down to preference I’ll give you my personal bias, Berkut. His higher base attack and good all around bulk not only makes him a very underrated but strong unit who can utilise Cavalry buffs to the fullest (except for speed) but can also make use of skills like Brave Lance and DC, depending on the build you’re going for, and can become a very serious threat.
For me, I find that he’s a very well written villain in his own game and he’s been a very reliable unit to use in Heroes as well.

With the introduction of Brash Assault, Berkut can actually run a very strong hybrid build due to his reletively unique stat line,

Weapon: Brave Lance+
Assist: Reposition / Swap / Flexible
Special: Bonfire
A-Slot: Fury
B-Slot: Desperation
C-Slot: Threaten Defence / Attack Smoke / Savage Blow / Flexible
Sacred Seal: Brash Assault

With the build above, Berkut can hit a stat spread of 44/46/20/35/28 with a +2 merge (his first two merges wastes no stats), 44/52/26/41/34 with Cavalry buffs, and 49/54/28/43/36 with Summoner Support added as well.
On the damage calc, without buffs Berkut can kill about 150 units on the player phase when he’s within Brash Assault threshold and 170+ when he’s fully buffed. On the enemy phase he doesn’t kill very much due to the nature of his build, but he only loses to about 2 or so units, making him a strong tank capable of transitioning over to a very powerful nuker.

Other units that are worth building in my opinion are Legion and Michalis. Legion’s berserker stat line opens the possibility of an aggressive Reprisal!Fury build that’s quite unique to him, and Michalis can run a very powerful tank build due to his Hauteclere and stat spread. Ursula also deserves a shoutout for being able to run Blade Tome.
But this is only taking into account the ones you’ve listed, there are a lot of other good units in the GHB and TT category but I assume you’ve already built them.

I’m lacking Fury right now (apparently I’ve only gotten 3 Hinatas over a period of 9 months) and I can’t finish the build I wrote above so I’ll just post my current Berkut build below.

Thanks for the suggestion! That brave lance option actually sounds like a fun thing to do with Berkut, because his atk is quite ok and speed is horrible as it is, so the further decrease doesn't even hurt.

Now that I looked in my barracks I even realized that I have no cavalry brave lancers, so he could actually find a spot in a team. I do have an unbuilt +atk Peri which has 2 more attack than him and much more speed, but she's kind of creepy, so I'll probably stick with Berkut.

I really like your current build and the build you recommended for OP. I just do not know why Desperation is on him. Desperation's effect only works if you are under the 75% health threshold and have enough speed to normally double the enemy. Berkut is very slow, so he can't naturally double units. This makes Desperation weak on him. What would you replace Desperation with for the Berkut build? Thanks.

Because of the Brash Assault + Desperation combo. Under 50% HP he will make a guaranteed follow-up attack on everyone that can counter attack him due to Brash Assault, and with Desperation added he’ll be able to quad attack uncontested. Everything he can’t quad attack will most likely die in two hits anyways, which is why this combo works well on Brave weapon users.
