Possible Linus Builds

Linus is coming tomorrow in his own GHB and is the second user of Basilikos. This sort of makes him one of the better F2P units to have. Here are some builds I'm thinking of:

Build #1: The Mad Dog's Wrath
Weapon: Basilikos (Eff)
Assist: Reposition / Flexible
Special: Moonbow / Glimmer / Luna / Draconic Aura
A-Slot: Brazen Atk/Spd 3 / Fury 3 / Swift Sparrow 2
B-Slot: Wrath 3 / Desperation 3 / Vantage 3
C-Slot: Threaten Def 3 / Threaten Spd 3 / Flexible
Seal: Heavy Blade 3 / Attack +3 / Speed +3

This set aims to utilize Linus' raw power and his refined Basilikos. His physical bulk is better than Raven's in comparison and can take a non-lethal hit to ensure the effects of Brazen Atk/Spd and whatever B-Slot skill Linus has.

Build #2: Brave Mad Dog
Weapon: Brave Axe+
Assist: Reposition / Flexible
Special: Moonbow / Glimmer
A-Slot: Death Blow 3 / Brazen Atk/Spd 3 / Life & Death 3
B-Slot: Drag Back / Hit & Run
C-Slot: Threaten Def 3 / Def Smoke 3 / Flexible
Seal: Heavy Blade 3 / Attack +3

Base 38 Attack is no pushover. He is basically Frederick without a horse, albeit slightly worse than Bartre by 1 Attack if he has a boon in Attack. If one simply wishes to use Linus with a Brave Axe+, it's a viable option and no one will stop you since the original wielders of Brave Axe+ often have lackluster Attack stat (looking at Raven and Camilla).

-----

So obviously, his optimal build should be anything to do with a refined Basilikos. Got a bad IV Raven? Go for Linus. You can't go wrong with him. Already built up your Raven? Can't hurt to have another Basilikos user.

My Raven (+spd -res or -def, can't remember) get is 5* level like 5 days before they reveal linus.
I guess Raven (especially with a +speed nature) is still better than linus (merge +10) but i'm a bit disappointed...

I don't want Linus to be just a copy of Raven with higher atk and def, which is why I will ditch the LnD refine on Basilikos and will probably choose spd refine or def refine if I ever find the time to build him properly, in order to capitalize on his differences. The speed refine will put him at 47hp/53atk/36spd/32def/19res. The increased speed will ensure that he won't get doubled and thus will safely activate brazen atk/def (which I'd like to give him). Combine that with wrath on B slot and Glimmer (or moonbow) as a special and you'll be one-shotting majority of the cast. I'm still undecided on whether to choose speed or def refine tho, because both make sense.

A restrained dog, eh?
Seems pretty cool.

I would go with a def refine and brazen atk/spd instead. and maybe a speed or QR seal
That way, he can tank when he's full hp, but go on the offence with lower hp.

Yeah, I'm still undecided about the refine itself, but my basic idea is to get to the Nephenee sort of playstyle, which means being extremely difficult to take down with physical hits, thanks to having high speed and def, while having the -1 cd weapon combined with wrath and a 2 turn special to dish out some serious damage.

Was thinking of using this

Basiliskos (L&D)
Swap
Galeforce

Brazen Atk/Spd
Desperation
Drive Def

Heavy Blade

In most fights he'll proc galforce and just rush ahead or retreat when needed.
If he get's countered he'll be able to rush ahead with the effects of brazen and desperation. With about 45 speed, he'll double most enemies and with 65 atk only really tanky sword units can survive him.
And that's before team buffs.

Btw, with his hp and def, there are very little enemies who can oneshot him, just stay clear of red dragons and mages.
