Honestly, with some units merging is the best option. Usually what I do in this situation is I inherit and learn as many skills as I can before merging, then I merge the built one into the new one and gain an SP boost, equip all the skills and level up for SP (Especially now when it's double SP and she's a focus character, if you have Axe Valor you can get a whopping 48 SP per kill) and use the extra SP for potential builds or for when a skill or skills come out that would work well with her in different situations. I pulled another one with better IV's so that's what I did. So for example and context, I gave my Azura Drive Speed 2 and had her learn it, then I had her learn HP +3 because I had just enough for that skill, (Stat skills have been useful for me in the past when I need a few extra points to survive a hit on a GHB or challenge map) and with the extra SP I might learn Drag Back, Escape Route, Poison Strike, or even maybe Fury for when/if they do a Triangle Adept Seal. You never know when those extra skills will come in handy. Plus, you do get a couple of points boosted into your stats, which doesn't always seem like much, but they add up.
