Pass or Summon: Ylgr/Surtr?

Since the banner is coming out tomorrow, I’m pretty curious about if everyone is going to summon or pass.
I might summon for Surtr, I think he can be a really good user of Slaying Hammer. With that Steady Stance 4 and VF, that’s basically a discount Special Fighter but with a follow up attack. Right now, I’m really looking forward to the Winter banner. More broken units! So I can’t summon yet for him.

What’s everyone going to do, summon or pass?

I'm gonna wait and see what units we get from the legendary and winter banners.

Im doing the exact same thing and it’s paying off. Saved 130 orbs and nothing has tempted me to summon, except for Surtr..

I hate IS sometimes.

I'll summon, mostly for Surtr.

The skills are nice, and this banner has a very high chance of pulling what you want (2 units and green is a good color)
So yeah.

Might finally build Xander if I pull a second Surtr.

Xander/Camus seems like the popular units who can abuse this skill, might do the same thing. I really don’t want to spend that much orbs tho.

You can wait for the legendary banner or something.
But Surtr is going to be one of the easiest characters to get of a banner.

Hmm... I dunno about Camus. All the good ways to build him make use out of his speed, making sure he doens't get doubled.
So the guard effect only really works for uber fast enemies and units with forced followup (Bolt fighter)
Xander meanwhile is slow and will get doubled, so he can really benefit from going full wall with it.

If we ever get a close counter build in a ranged weapon, that unit would also be able to use the skill well.

I occasionally save up for LB’s, but only if there aren’t any bait banners. Built in close counter tome units will be hard to deal with that skill.

I'm summoning for a Surtr and pass, just for having a bonus unit in next arena season.

I might summon, but for Ylgr instead of Surtr. I for one don't like Surtr but I can't deny he would be a disgustingly good unit. Ylgr on the other hand, I just want to fodder her Sorcery Blade skill to both my OG Robins.

Make sure to check the weapon restrictions on the skill before pulling.
We do no know what kind of units could use it. Only daggers are certain

But why, unless you're trying to focus on anti-mages like Felicia? Doesn't he prefer to fight melee units who are probably hitting his def if they have DC? And then he's already hitting the lower defensive stat against most of them.

These are the restrictions listed on Sorcery Blade.

Wait as long as I can, and if nothing changes by the end of the banner I'll pull for two copies of Ylgr and potentially more. I think IS is trying to bait us hard with the 1.5% and some ridiculously good fodder before they introduce relatively consistent and somewhat easy ways of obtaining fodder.

IS is being sly with their moves towards 3.0 and the bait is disgusting.

Summoning because story characters.

I'm missing Spring Alfonse and Loki.

I’m guessing you would like a collection of Feh units? I wish I could do that, but I’m trying my best to not summon before the Winter banner.

Yeah, kinda feels right to get them. Also, I'm generally pretty lucky with story characters, with the exception of Loki. Had to leave Farfetched 2 with a 4.5% pity rate. Spring Alfonse was just blocked by Spring Sharena, no high pity rate involved.

And this banner should be pretty good, too. Higher rates than normal at 1.5% each. (I think)

3.0 is super tempting tbh I’ve saved up around 130 will be 150 after the parologue etc new maps/ GC. I’m saving up for the winter banner so I’m might pass.
It’s just because winter will hit with cheese and then New Years comes around and then in January we could get beast units or my boy Zihark who is one of my favorite sword lords in the whole game.
It’s wise to skip since these next month will be heavy content wise. I have so many green axe armors so.. I just gave myDorcas BF+Bold fighter so..

Oho, Give him as many skills as possible.

He's got DC in his A slot, Steady Stance 4 in his second A slot, and QR Special Fighter in his third A slot. What should I put in his B slot?

Pass

Special Spiral in his first B slot, Atk/Spd link in his second B slot and Def/Res link in his third B slot.

What about the C skills?

Probably pass on Ylgr. I've been saving for months waiting for a good dagger unit but even if she has incredible stats her skills aren't that impressive. Also wish she was colorless.

Always pass on armors, just not my thing. Though he's certainly a beast.

Might go for Surtr, that Steady Stance 4 looks insane.

You Guys think Legendary still has better odds than Ylgr and Surtr, assuming you want 3/3 of a certain (any) color?

I'm passing other than the discount round.

If for some reason I pull a Surtr he's getting Steady/Warding Breath and Miracle, mwahahaha.

I’m probably just going to do my free summon and call it a day until the Legendary banner appears. If I manage to have some remaining orbs after the Legendary I’ll probably try my luck with Ylgr.

I'll maybe dip in a little for Ylgr, and skipping any greens if possible.

Need to make sure I still have plenty for the legendary banner, just in case...
