The orb packages are complete BS... AR's "Temporarily" become P2W

So surprise surprise, having a lot more of a limited resource gives you a big advantage when compared to players who didn't dish out 75$... or more depending on where you live... which is pretty fucking stupid when the original idea was ridiculous enough.

Being someone who was already planning on getting 280 orbs at the end of January, I figured "Why not?" and got the bundle for what is essentially free resources. Grails are nice, but god damn... Having that extra 400 Aether stones not only gave me a 6th slot on my defense team, something that was already a pain to deal with due to turn limits, but now I have more than enough to get myself the 2nd level 3 fortress.

Aether Raids was an interesting idea, but is severely flawed and without certain units (CC/Vantage Micaiah), you'll go up against matches you simply can't win. There's too many cheap tactics players can use with ease that aren't too easy to counter. Simply adding the fact that whales are given a bonus for this BS is terrible.

I say AR is temporarily P2W, but only because of this bundle. Eventually, players will have had enough time to get themselves into the later tiers. You have to work for it, but having been given a free Eir, it makes it a lot easier during Light Season.

Whales have sky rocketed through the ranks, but it's only because they had the units to begin with. They can afford to get whatever unit they want to +10 or damn near because they throw enough money at the game to get what they want. The tier rewards at the end of the week cater to them as well, but no where near enough to make a significant difference when players are just a tier away from you.

The fact that people can now buy the limited resource to boost themselves even further up is just wrong. It's even further wrong when it's the highest priced item in the entire fucking store.

Even without the bundle, the game mode was pretty much P2W since Mythic's came in a sence, and honestly that's just how it is. And the bundle only really gets you 2 seasons ahead so it's not that much of a problem, it's not like people can buy max lvl of every building right now, so you can still beat people with out a problem, and you don't even need Dancing Micaiah to deal with pesky Surtr's especially now that he isn'the a bonus unit any sword unit with Armorsmasher TA can deal with him np, Aversa is also a good F2P unit to deal with him especially outside of Light season when combined with Axe breaker, Soleil can deal with him with just Armorsmasher and no TA

Yeah, but it just seems like they keep catering to whales time and time again. Those 400 stones may of just put me into tier 20 when it would of been an impossibility due to my defense.

Regular Micaiah does much better than Dancing Micaiah. While you can't take out Surtr nearly as great as you would being red, the amount of common units you go up against makes it worth using the original. I've literally gone up and used nothing but Micaiah with buffs to take out enemy teams without worry. Even Flying Nino has issues taking out a properly built Micaiah, which is ridiculous.

It's true, I just wish they'd allow those who don't have nearly as much disposable income to enjoy the game a bit more. Starting the year off with 2 bundles that cost at least 75$(Apparently it's 105$ in Canada).

I don't really have much disposable income in any way and I still enjoy the game, spending a little bit of the tips I make here and their on the game... yah it became cancerous recently with the addition of Surtr, but honestly I don't even see him as much of a threat any more, more of just mear dust burning in Soleil's path.

1)Welcome to the site, I write quite a bit, this isn't the first time nor will it be the last.

2)The company could of very well made it cheaper with less orbs like they did with the BK offer. They're not trying to support themselves, they're using the whales to line their pockets.

2)Anyone can do whatever they want with their cash, that's perfectly fine. But when you start making it severely unfair for the players who don't put in money it's a bit of a dick move.

3)Obviously you didn't even read the essay. I bought the bundle myself and have gone through AR easily. I'll more than likely rank up because of it solely. Surely if I put in a little bit of effort to write this you could do the same with your own comments.

It's a pattern that IS allows people to buy their way to top ranks. A lot of players want victory to be a matter of skill rather than of spending. Having Eir+10, a ton of light blessings, and an extra fortress upgrade is a huge advantage that has nothing to do with the aptitude of a player for the game. Plus, doesn't buying one's way to victory do away with the point of the game, which is the challenge of getting there? It's frustrating that IS is so pleased to reward something so foolish.

1/4 of the Seasons can be horror, but after that, what? Demotion from Tier 'cause being dependable on eir? What a Shame.
Not to say some Dumb rich not always Win a AR atk by his lazyness to think. 1 surtr And 2-3 was ridiculously Saw this past month, And yet some still lost.

Do you realize how hard it is to get demoted in AR if you play everyday? Even if you lost -640 on defense (maximum possible - raided 8 times in a season, complete failure every time), out of season you could lose three units per match in 10/14 raids and 2 units in the other four and you still wouldn't get demoted. If some whale decides to spend on dark or anima mythics, that margin of incompetence (it's no longer a margin of error) is even wider.

I think it's an annoyance more than anything else.

The players with the most lifetime aether stones are always at an advantage over newer players, and the same goes for orbs and feathers. It's an arguably problematic aspect of the game that isn't limited to AR.

F2ps will catch up in about a season and a half? So it seems pretty temporary. We don't even need that many stones if you ask me. I spent 100 on an escape ladder and it's mostly just psychological support for me. I have around 400 unspent stones after getting bonus structures for this week and the 6th defender. I won't be significantly behind the others in fortress upgrades, and I win most of my fortress disadvantage matches on offense without losing units.

Nobody in T19 is promoting this week. On perfect offense the defense would still need to limit losses to 200 lift, probably over 7 defenses because there are over 3000 players in T19. That's 2 kills per defense and a third every other. I don't think current T19 players will give you that.

Might have to post my defenses later on for some detailed feedback. Most people that run into me get to turn 7 before killing everyone and that was with 5 units. Added a 6th and have traps purposely in the wrong spots to catch people off guard.

You don't have to kill your enemy, just stall long enough to win. I legitimately believe I have a good chance at making tier 20 this week with my offensive and defensive teams.

Middle of january, they Will put the increase of the recovery cap. But 70 per day seems not quite good yet.
Tier 19 Will be the twenties for the F2P arena brawlers. The difference os that You cannot count in merges of Free units, but mythical and not so cheap heroes.

I've started to see some stalling strategies toward the end of my T18 days, and now in T19 I do see more stalling than before even if it's only part of the strategy.

You know what? 3 weeks of AR And this Will be nothing.

People nowadays lacks At strategy during defense, also as inteligence during offensive, so they lose as they were "domesticated" to be an automatic player. I laugh on the Dumb plays the do, even in theory every player has 5 formation of teams, IN THEORY, because lazyness still exists At Tier 18, as far as i saw.
Some teams have characters without seals(which can be pardoned) but also none refinement/inheritance, the lack of thinking and put the first think you see in barracks. Tier 17-18, i'm talking about, during this horror month of bonus Surtr with light blessing that was abused for everyone with 3 flying mythical cows and a Verônica for abuse. Thank gods the game mode has turn limit.

4 At all statuses seem more usefull during defensive to make parallel statuses with your foe, as you depend on nukes or tanks.
But my Fortress is level 2 for offense and i dont see difference in number of succeeded atks, while i use pain+Savage combo, a dancer, a good tank with wary/vegeful fighter, maybe a Mage.

What is it with people having to complain about this every few daysXD

Okay, real talk here. This only really affects the upper echelons of Aether Raids. Really. You score up faster if you buy the packs or mythic heroes (you've done the former), and that's mostly it. Once you hit T 21, nothing but the score you have will change, and just like arena, it can and will always be the same top 2k players (mostly) since they are the "whales".

400 Aether Stones, if you've played since day 1, and have played like me, where I've upgraded everything to the point where 1 need 1k to upgrade anything (using dew), then all this does is help you save up for the eventual upgrade you're gonna get.

I won't deny that for the moment, as you said, they will have an advantage because of this bundle, I do understand. But overall, I think this is just like arena. Legendary Hero's boost scores, and buying units can help you score higher)
