Optimizing Soleil

I recently got enough copies of Soleil (together with the most desired IVs) and also have enough feathers to bring them all up for a merge.

My question is: is her mixed-phase build (Slaying edge + DC + wrath) worth the investment? Or do you think that she can serve well without DC? She would potentially join my main team, which consists of +10 Nowi (standard cookie-cutter build) and Soren (debuff build, who will be merged eventually).

Honesty soleil is very bulky and can take hits, distant counter vanatage night and awesome idea since wraith is a costly fooder option,

She can definitely survive without Distant Counter. It's a good skill, don't get me wrong, but putting Distant Counter on every single melee unit is completely... yeah no, it's not gonna work, lol.

Soleil (I'm assuming you have one that's +Spd) would reach 42 speed without the help of skills and ally buffs. AND she has Firesweep Sword (or you can change it to another sword, I guess) allowing her to double units without the fear of retaliation unless they have Wary Fighter.

It's true, that not every melee unit can use it competently, but I thought that Soleil might be a good candidate. The fact that she would rarely get doubled would mean that she would get hit once, which puts her into wrath range and then she can blast the enemy with a wrath boosted moonbow/glimmer thanks to slaying edge cooldown reduction.

So far I'm using a budget build with firesweep + LnD (from 4 star sothe) and swordbreaker on a +0 +spd -res. It's pretty good, but feels kind of risky without a dancer or galeforce + heavy blade seal.

I'm currently running a build similar to yours that runs Galeforce, Swift Sparrow, WoM (will sub this out for Chill Speed if I ever get it), and Defense Smoke with Heavy Blade. Since you are running her alongside Nowi, you could get a turn 1 Galeforce proc if you run infantry pulse on someone. The build has served me quite well.

She's a good candidate for it because of her high speed and pretty okay defense, but she doesn't "need" it to function.

If you want to give it to her then go ahead. She'd make great use of it, but I was just saying that she doesn't need Distant Counter to survive.

Hello I would like to offer some assistance my Soleil is +atk -def and she destroys everything easy, I have an armorslayer and a slaying edge on her I usually keep the armorslayer for arena or give her close defense 3 to help tank the hit for vantage, can confirm that i've killed a whole load of blues thanks to vantage. I also wanted to point out that with a heavy blade seal or quickened pulse + slaying edge and either glimmer or moonbow you get instant activation when you initiate, you can even proc glimmer/moonbow twice in an encounter by initiating with slaying edge+ heavy blade, having your enemy attack you once and activating glimmer/moonbow the 2nd time. I should mention that my soleil has Brave Lucina as an S support so she can get +5atk +8speed from being near Lucina and s seal can either be +4 spur or +3 drive making her reach absurd numbers, not counting the 3 tactics I have setup on my team (Larachel res tactic +def tactic s seal + V! Lillina with +atk tactic)

Here is my Soleil with full buffs having an effective 74 magic and physical resistance 80 with close defense 3, not pictured Lucina's Spur/Drive +7atk +6 speed my Soleil can reach a max 80 atk 48 speed and have enough resistances at 27/27 with 47 hp to survive and not get doubled ever.
Edit: also not calculated the -5 def on enemy thanks to threaten def
