I used to run fury on her as well with this refine, but I found that it kind of killed her viability in multiple encounters, especially considering that she can now tank armors. Changed to brazen atk/def and it works perfectly. You could consider it as well.

Naw, I want her to be fast and tanky. Fury's HP drawback is something to keep in mind, but Atk Smoke really helps (would be better with Close Def Seal).

Lowkey wish I gave her Spd/Def 2 instead of Libra.

Report

Yeah, fair enough. I hope that we'll get spd/def 2 as a sacred seal eventually. It will fit perfectly on Neph if you happened to have close def on someone else at the time.

Report

Or some free character with it. It's this "premium" skill that's pretty basic...though it can be a lot better for tanking than Fury if you don't need the extra Atk.

Report

Yeah, they work extremely well together. The build that I use on her gets to 54def just by herself when she is in brazen range and if the enemy also got hit by atk smoke, she hardly ever takes any damage. Not to even mention that bonfire wrath damage, which is just absurd.

Report

I know that it bothers you xD but she's fast enough to block doubles and once in wrath range, you can just delete stuff, because she is taking one hit after which she strikes back with a 35 dmg bonfire. Also, I mostly built her as an anti armor unit, so having slightly under 40 speed (before her stance skill) is good enough.

Report

Maybe it's PTSOCDthing of not seeing her Spd being put to used...but now, more than ever, she doesn't really need it. You have a point, considering not only she doubles most Armours, but then she oneshots stuff she doesn't (i.e Zelgius).

It always bothered me when people made her into some sort of worse Lukas by giving her Steady Breath > Aether, but at least with the Refine + Eff., not only does it make sense, but she has her "thing". I also realised a bit late that you don't need to be doubled to fire off 4-Turn specials with Breath-skills, which can be an edge over traditional tanks.

Then again, I also like Player and mixed phase tanks. Nephenee is definitely good at both.

Report

Definitely. Neph basically has two approaches (either pure enemy phase or mixed) and both are equally viable imho, they just have slightly different matchups in certain situations. With that said, a steady breath Neph with wrath Ignis does sound really scary.

Report

Henry needs a prf that would do something like: "your special deals double damage" (not overpowered at all btw). The god-slaying Ignis dream would then become a reality.
