Null follow-up is infantry only

Commentary added after initial posting.

Maybe not such a huge deal for several reasons
- fliers and cavaliers tend to play aggressively on player phase anyways, and this skill's biggest benefit was to fast tanks who couldn't deal with bold fighter and debuffers who can take a hit or two but not a vengeful special.
- to hell with armours
- but seriously, just use special fighter, especially if null follow-up becomes common enough in the meta
- enemy phase fliers should be pretty fast in most cases due to most flier teams spamming goads, so vantage can dispose of bold fighters

My bigger concern about this restriction is that it will slow the skill's effect on the meta, in discouraging bold fighter.

Anyway, I agree with your added point that it's not a big deal.
It's too bad, but infantry are probably the units who're going to get the most use out of it.

And now we don't get shenanigans like (Brave) Hector using this skill to counter armored units with his qr effect

Like I've said before the only people who actually wanted this ability were infantry tanks who were fast. This changes for maybe a very select few characters though? And a lot of people prefer tanking those extra hits to charges their Aether so Guard may be preferred. I think people figured out pretty quickly while this skill is cool, it's also niche.

The issue with limiting it like this isn't who can use it best, it's that Armors were unlikely to use it very often anyway (Special Fighter is better for them 9 times out of 10), so all they did was ensure that Cavs and Fliers still lack options to even the playing field.

*My Catria would have loved this ability!

True at least Flier could keep it at the very least. Not sure why its infantry only. Maybe they figured restricting it was safer for balance reasons?

I find your comment surprising. You paid at least a little attention when I showed my analysis yesterday. You don't think that armoured stupidness is finally running into its bane?

It's kind of the same deal as with the Duel skills. They released those to "throw a bone" to people so to speak, only to immediately say F-U with a new 180 BST Armor.

Limiting this ability by movement just feels like it's another imitation bone.

Also my comment is more about how long Armors have had the access to such imbalance (over a year), while others have sat by the wayside waiting their turn.

sadly no.
Loli Tiki and Bhector pretty much crush her on player phase.
on enemy phase she has 44 def/res, with double CD.
sadly she is gonna get pulverized too without guard by bold fighter.
so her only option is guard now, which means wary fighter will completely remove her nice spd.
