For the Nowi experts

Hi Guys,

I have the below Nowi. She is +Def/-Spd.

I managed to pull a B!Ike today and gave her Steady Breath (finally!)

With the introduction of Garon I have a free Panic Ploy 3. It seems like a pretty rare skill & I don’t plan on using him.

My question is - should I inherit Panic Ploy (C-Slot) for her or is she fine continuing as built?

At 53 HP only my Winter Chrom is sitting above her with HP (56) and he already has Panic ploy equipped.

She is fine as is, but if you have the Panic Ploy to fodder, then go right ahead. 50+ HP is normally overkill for Panic Ploy, and to top it off, you have Aether to heal her HP back up, making Panic Ploy last longer. The other thing to consider is how often you encounter buffs, because if you don't encounter them often, then there really isn't any point in using Panic Ploy.

This is my Nowi, she is +def -hp, her speed is in the perfect spot at +10, her hp is the most disposable stat.

If you're going for use of Nowi in arena... no.
You need merges. Work on this over the next couple of months to try to +10 her. She needs QR desperately (either B or seal) for damage output and special charges. IMO +Spd - HP is the slightly better IV, but what you've got isn't bad by any means. She needs 240 SP cost skills. QR3 covers one. Renewal if B or Distant/Close Def 3 if seal. That helps her score higher. If you're just looking for PvE or Arena Assault use, QR2 is fine. I had Panic Ploy on my Nowi for a while, but I pulled it off for Drive Def 3 since that impacted my wins more in arena. It's fine to go for, but how often are you seeing field buffs at your arena level? If it's not that often (beyond dual rallies) then it's probably not worth it over Drive Def.

She looks great! I wouldn't put Panic Ploy on her if Chrom already has it, because it's overkill, and a rare skill. You'd probably be best served with something like Attack Smoke or a C skill to synergize with the rest of the team. (Maybe a tactic skill if you can get your hands on one, if you're running a mied team with Chrom) Threaten Res works fine too, though I'm not a huge fan of the Threaten skills these days, as I think there are better options.
Ah, and Quick Riposte would be a good idea.

I'm not honestly a huge fan of panic ploy in general; it's pretty situational and in T20+ you rarely see hones or fortifies. Drive [stat] is my preferred C slot for arena use, since it will help your bonus unit survive and/or get kills. Stacking drives works well outside arena as well and gives you a lot of flexibility in team composition.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am waiting and hoping for a Shanna so I can get QR3 in. Has not happened thus far sadly.

I have been running Nowi in a team on Arena with my Raven project (attached). I have been waiting on Shanna to give QR3 to him as well (😫) I am planning on hooking him up with Galeforce soon too.

I have Atk Tactic3, Res Tactic3 & Infantry Pulse available as well for Nowi.

Would any of those work on Nowi in the C-Slot? I’m just feeling like Threaten Res has a pretty low ceiling in terms of usability.

Klein also has QR3 available. Infantry pulse would be great... if you plan to keep the IV's and Summoner Support. Otherwise, Fae is slightly preferred to run Infantry Pulse on a dragon team.

I’ll keep the IV’s n Summoner support for sure.

Don’t have a Klein handy sadly. I’m F2P so fodders are too few n far between at present.

I also run her in my arena team with my L!Robin (+4) who I have Fortify Dragons on, makes Nowi very tanky but I’ll be mixing that up soon once I’m done with Raven n Nowi builds.

A few considerations:
- if you're keeping your summoner support on her, she will be extremely good at panic ploy.
- if you're planning to give someone else on the team a duel skill, they ight end up being better at panic ploy than she is.
- she has lots of choices for C-skills. The main one that helps her is atk smoke; drives would help her teammates.
