Not Your Mother's B!Celica

So, this build is a little unorthodox, but after running some numbers, I'm pretty impressed with how this build can function.

B!Celica (+Spd/-Res)
Safeguard+ (Spd)
Aether
Brazen Atk/Def 3
Double Lion
Smoke Defense 3
Close Defense 3 Seal

Let me paint a scenario.

B!Celica attacks an opponent, takes 10 total damage, kills her enemy on the third hit, and has one counter left to proc Aether. She gets the debuff on Black Knight. Black Knight would then take her from 33 to 24 (she gains 20 defense on Enemy Phase while in Brazen range,) where she would then retaliate with Aether, healing back to full (she deals 39 health recovering 19, exactly what she'd need to hit full) and kills him on the second hit.

That's basically a self-sustaining B!Celica! Granted, yes, she's not quite as powerful on the Player Phase, but she's still getting in those quad hits, more than enough to fell anything but a blue tank. Assuming the next enemy to hit her is nothing worse than BK, she has vanquished two foes and is back to full. All of this without buffs!

Idk, these are just the fun kinda builds I like to mess around with. Unfortunately I don't have the fodder to take it into practice, but on paper it sounds nice.

Looks like a reasonable build, but if you like aether why not keep the prf and try to down the first opponent in two strikes? She gets hit, hits back with aether on a fresh opponent, and then doubles naturally thanks to high spd and spd smoke. She doesn't take damage from the first opponent, so she doesn't need the extra 20 def.

You're not wrong, but the issue then becomes not only getting the first kill without take damage, but also having an ally nearby to get the bonus charges. Furthermore, without being in Brazen range, you miss out on 7 attack, which not only helps with the killing, but the recovery as well.

Yeah the positioning thing is definitely to be considered, though 2 spaces I would say is pretty generous and not something I would be especially concerned about.

Since she wouldn't need the extra defense so much with the setup I proposed, she could just keep death blow 4 and have 57 atk at neutral, which tends to take care of the first kill. I guess the issue with my setup is that needing to take a hit first means she's missing 8 atk when aether activates, which is pretty significant.

The advantage of your setup is that she might not need to wait for someone to hit her first if she quads during the first battle, which is somewhat likely because brazen won't be active and her atk stat isn't actually that high without an A-skill.

That looks exactly like my mother's B!Celica.

Anyway, a nice build, although it's kind of awkward when her arguably strongest phase (when she's at 100%hp) is kind of weakened by the addition of a brazen skill. If there's a +6 atk buff on her team, then it's pretty much ok tho.

Why, so she can be like everyone else's mother? Sure, it's a good build, but it isn't unique in the slightest. And she blows her whole load after the first combat. That build is also overkill, only really allowing her the added benefit of taking on blues, which she doesn't need to do.
