no free gunnthra?

it seems like gunnthra was [[REDACTED BUT OBVIOUS SPOILER]] in the new story maps so i guess that also kills the possibility of being able to recruit her for free in a new story map in the future.

I thought it was fairly obvious that they wouldn't give her away for free. The difference between Fjorm and Gunnthra was that Fjorm was given away for free BEFORE she was able to be obtained in the legendary banner. Gunnthra was in the legendary banner, therefore the possibility of her being given away for free would be slim to none, and would cause a LOT of people to be extremely upset.

Would it? I mean we got VL!Ike for free... oh wait that did get a lot of people upset.

V!Ike is a completely different scenario. The only way anyone could've gotten Gunnthra was through B8% banners, which people spent currency on (orbs/money).

V!Ike was announced, then, IN THAT SAME LIVESTREAM, we were told that any unit could be picked, and whoever won would be given for free.

If Gunnthra won the event then it wouldn't be that big of a deal since it was an event where people vote, but if they just flat out gave Gunnthra for free, after people felt like they HAD to spend orbs, or money, to even have a chance of getting Gunnthra, then it would cause a lot of people to be upset.
